Hawk's Nest Resort and Marina
Ranked #10 of 10 Hotels in Cat Island

We stop hear yearly to fish for Blue Marlin. The marina is well appointed but not fancy or updated what so ever, dont expect a resort atmosphere this place is as raw as it gets and we love it. There is a small club house that is a short bike ride away from the marina and you can just pick up a complimentry bicycle that are just laying around the marina. The food at the club house is very good and so is the staff! We love Antoine he has been there for years and will help you with anyting you need! The bar is a honor system so that tells you how chilled this place is.

We have been island hopping the Bahamas all winter. We have stayed at some of the best marinas in the best locations in the Bahamas. Hawk's Nest has been our favorite place. Right off we were welcomed as if we had been staying there for years. The managers of the marina are accommodating and are there to make your stay the best it can be! If the owners are in town they will want to meet you and maybe even have dinner with you. The fishing is excellent and you will have no problems getting information on the best spots! we highly recommend this location for some of the best fishing in the Bahamas! If you don't decide on Hawk's Nest...it will be a mistake!

Pulled into the marina for lunch and found this amazing place. Small resort supported with an airstrip, a fresh water pool and LUNCH !!!! ....not to mention the marina with 28 slips.
You must try their sea fish taco. Unbelievable !

Room Tip: You might fly in.

My husband and I LOVE going to Hawks Nest! JR & Randy (the hosts) run a fantastic resort perfect for fishing, walking the beaches searching for shells, or just laying around enjoying the tropical breezes!

I have been to Hawks Nest 4 times. I went the first time to fish and dive hard core and the managers Randy and Jennifer hooked me up big time. I caught a 51 pound Mahi and several Wahoo on our first day. It was so awesome words cant describe. So next trip was a family trip with the kids. The food was world class and Randy took my wife and daughter diving several times. She now bugs me to go back all the time. Some great family time for sure. I have had the best times of my life at Hawks Nest and I would have to say thanks to the dedication of Randy and Jennifer Holder who will go above and beyond in every way to make our trip A+. The coolest thing was it is a place that can be fun for the entire fam. or a hard core fishing trip for the boys. I love it there and will be back!

We have been to Hawks Nest 3 times in the past 10 years and love it for its remote beauty. Getting there isn't always smooth - we have missed connections before and had to spend the night in Nassau because the runway on Cat is small and at the time was not lit so no night flights could come in (not sure about now though). It is very remote so after a couple plane rides and a bumpy car ride, we were there. It is perfect for private/charter planes because they have their own airstrip at the resort - or by boat since the marina is georgous!

The water is so beautiful and you can walk to 3 different beaches and never see a soul! We took a boat to another private beach, had some Bahamian caught lobster, conch fritters, snorkeled, and kayaked in the mangroves. There was a car ride to the Hermitage, and a stop by a local woman's house who made baskets that we bought. It is soooo very remote and cool! I had never been deep sea fishing or scuba diving but we were in great hands and Randy hooked us up. He is an amazing instructor and we felt very safe. The dive was amazing, but I didn't like the sharks so much ;0) The rooms were very clean and the management super friendly and fun. I loved the honor system at the bar and you feel like you are one of the family when you are there. The waitresses are local ladies and they are "on island time" so don't expect them to hurry on your account. Just have another pina colada and relax! Those hammocks... and the lagoon is fabulous for shelling at low tide! Can't wait to go back!

My wife and I have been to Hawks Nest Resort three times. It is a beautiful resort. We fly in on Skybahamas and then are picked by the resort or take a taxi. The rooms are spacious and wonderful with ocean views. The restaurant and bar are exceptional. You have your choice of fresh fish and lobster which are caught daily by the resort staff. The marina is accessible by about any size boat. They have world class fishing and diving. We have caught large tuna, wahoo, and dolphin. The diving is impeccable. You have deep dives, reef dives, and wall dives and it is some of the best in the world . If you want to dive for big lobster make sure you go with Randy, a gracious host and manager of the resort along with his wife JR.

Room Tip: All the rooms are ocean view.
