A group of 90 recently gathered at this property to share some sun, fun and music. The place was beautiful but not all rooms had the listed aminities. They said they had a new infinity pool with Tiki Bar but it was not open and quickly becoming a hugh bird bath. The original pool by the office was open but very few chairs and the Tiki Bar was not open and looked like it had been closed for some time. The restraunt on property usually closed at 3PM but did stay open for our group.Joy the chef made us some garlic shrimp that was wonderful. The other restraunts were a 25 minute walk or rent a golf cart away. They did have a bus service (gaily painted school bus that was a blast to ride) that started at 3PM. They had great food and a nice beach and sand on the floor bar. There was a pool but had a lot of algee. Some units had WiFi but the free from the office could only get reception if you were near by not in your room.See below for the room info.

Room Tip: We chose the marina view and had a great location near the original pool and office. Our unit 17J wa...

The good. Quiet, clean, nice pools, great restaurant. Island is so small there is not much to do but relax which was great.

The not so good. If you are staying on the ocean side or back of marina you have a long walk to the office, bus, grocery(which has very limited goods). If you are young or in good shape it's ok but we had to rent a golf cart(way too expensive). Room did not have a phone so could not call office or other units. Our room did not have dish receiver so no tv for a week, office said they could not provide one which i found very unprofessional.

Took 2 hr. boat ride around island which was very nice.. Took water taxi to n. bimini couple times to other groceries, liquor store and lunch $2 pp ea. way..

Overall very nice trip.

Room Tip: Ocean view is great, very close to water but again a long walk

I live in Key Largo and wish the resteraunts and bars where as clean and had good fresh food that equaled this. I'd rather pay for fuel and entry fee to get the quality and service I had here than stay home. The resort was clean and the staff friendly and willing to help.

We stayed at Bimini Sands for a week in February. Location wise it's great especially if your unit comes with a golf cart ( otherwise its a bit if a hike to get places, although there is a bus that runs on the island every so often). The unit had one spacious bedroom, living room bathroom and kitchen. It had everything you needed for cooking, cleaning etc.. Located on the first floor you could walk right outside and enjoy the view while sipping a glass of wine. We were facing the dock, but it was still a nice view. There are private beaches but omg beware of the sand flies!! Unbeknownst to me I was bitten all over and only saw the bites the next day. They itch like hell and leave scars!! I looked like a speckled fish during my entire stay in Bimini. Use repellent!
I wouldn't say it was the cleanest place I've stayed in. It was clean, but not spotless. Then again, I'm very picky when it comes to that.
There is a little convenience store a close walk away that sells, well not much but a few basic things. Milk and fresh produce only come in once a week or so, so be sure to grab that when you can.
Overall, great stay. Take a trip to the North side if you can. It's only a 5 min boat ride away!

If you are looking for the best place to stay on Bimini, the Bimini Sands is the best choice by far. Great accomodations, excellent food, friendly people and good service. Plus: location, location, location.

Bimini Sands is on the 'south' island, which is very quiet and undeveloped. Alice Town and most of the homes, shops, resorts, docks (and people) are on the 'north' island -- including the massive 'Bimini Bay' development. A very narrow inlet separates the two islands -- just a ~3 minutes ride on one of the small ferries that constantly run back and forth. (See my other post on 'how to get there" and local transportation.)

Bimini Sands includes rows of one and two bedroom townhouses / condos along around the central marina, plus two rows facing the beach. We rented 21-A -- which is right on the beach, next to the marina entrance. (A photo is attached.) The two-bedroom condos on the beach are ideal for families; away from the marina with beautiful views, with the beach outside your door. Most include fully equipped kitchens and a washer/drier. (Great when the kids have been out fishing!) During the high season the marina is hopping with fishing / party boats from Florida, and the one-bedroom condos that face the marina are the best bet if you want to enjoy the night life.

As a number of other reviewers have noted, Bimini Sands has a good restraurant -- probably the best on the island. A funky bus runs between the resort and the reswtaurant, which is located at the southern tip of the South isoand, with nice views. There is also a friendly cafe next to the marina; we had lunch there every day during our stay.

The most significant 'plus' for us, however, was the wealth of fun and adventure that Grant and
Katie arranged in the Bimini Sands 'Activities Center'. (See the notes in my next post.)

In short, we saw the other resorts on Bimini during our stay -- and were very happy we pick Bimini Sands! This is definitely our #1 choice for a return trip.

We were just recently staying at the Bimini Sands resort in South Bimini Bahamas. We had a large group with us from all over the world.
From the front desk staff to Chief Prince in the restaurant, the dock staff to the staff maintaining the property - we got nothing but the best service, smiling faces and politeness.
Everybody was very accommodating and willing to help with all of our arrangements.
Thank You Bimini Sands for making our stay such a pleasant one - we will see you again next year!
