“A wonderful spot”
Reviewed June 16, 2011

Our family just came home from a terrific weekend at Andros Beach Club. Jesse and his parents, Jonathan and Roxanne, were welcoming, informative and helpful. The Andros residents were incredibly open and friendly. We snorkeled the reef, swam in blue holes, hiked in the interior with a nature guide and hunted "walking crabs" in the dark. We also spent a lot of time just hanging out in the hammocks! One sad spot in the trip was to see the plastic that washes up on the beach with every high tide. I wonder if it comes from the cruise ships off of Nassau, dumping their waste in the ocean? If so, I wonder if the Bahamian government can put a stop to this practice.

Just returned from one of our most memorable vacations - the Andros Beach Club. After a 12-hour flight from Colorado, we finally reached the Beach Club. The Leopold's welcomed us with open arms and a generous spirit. They arranged all my husband's diving, our eco-tour (which is not to be missed), and transportation to the from the airport (you must meet Mrs. Lloyd!). Chelsey's meals were wonderful and a treat we looked forward to every day. We also had an opportunity to meet some of the lovely residents of Andros and Jesse's parents spent two days with us. This vacation was exactly what we needed - restful, relaxing, fun. We felt like we became part of the family and greatly cherish the friends we made. Looking forward to a return visit and more great memories. The Moreno's.

As an older (60+) diver I am tired of the usual mob scenes at the usual diving destination resorts where you end up diving with up to 20 people on the same reef and that reef gets dive action every day or multiple times per day. At the Andros Beach Club you get your own personal dive master in Jesse Leopold who runs the dive operation and his wife Chelsea runs the Inn. Jesse takes you out on the nearby South Andros Island reefs that he knows well after years of diving in the area. In four days of boat diving on the local reefs we did not see any other divers and we only saw one other boat, which contained a couple of local Bahamian fisherman. Since it is a small inn Jesse usually takes out only a few divers on his trips. During our stay my son and I were the only divers on the daily trips to the reef. The Andros Beach Club Inn is very comfortable in a secluded spot on the east side of South Andros Island. The nearest neighbor to the inn is about a quarter mile away and and the we never saw a single person in five days on the beautiful while coral sand beach adjacent to the Inn. Chelsea bakes her own bread and cooks most meals from scratch, including Conch salad, grilled fresh grouper from the reef and were lucky to get some broiled Lobster tail. We dove two ocean blue holes during our visit, which was a trip. On our last day we dove two inland Blue Holes, which was a totally amazing experience. My grandaughter was with us and she played on the beach every day with the Leopolds two dogs who are very kid friendly. Altogether a very relaxing vacation and the cost was reasonable compared to the typical dive resort packages. We would recommend this spot to anyone who is tired of the usual diver resort scene and wants to really get away from it all. For those who are into spear fishing Jesse can take you to some awesome spearfishing sites on the reef and he can also make connections for you if you are into trying some of the famous Andros Island Bone Fishing.

If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind, the Andros Beach Club is an ideal locale. The secluded island getaway is the perfect spot to relax on your own private beach and swim in the crystal ocean water.
Owners/Operators Jesse and Chelsea Leopold are the best hosts, providing meals that included fresh baked breads/muffins/cakes, fresh grilled fish, fried conch, quiche, conch salad, rice and peas, and much more.
In addition, certified SCUBA instructor Jesse can take you out diving or snorkeling in some of the Bahama's famous Blue Holes, which are beautiful. Jesse also took us out snorkeling in the ocean to spear for fish and dive for conch. We also chartered a boat for a sightseeing adventure to a few different reefs where the aquatic wildlife was amazing. Jesse has an excellent rapport with the local Bahamians and he was able to arrange a couple of different island-cuisine dinners that were delicious.
The house at the Beach Club is very comfortable: private rooms, private bathrooms, cable tv, home phone, books, boardgames, and the all-important Internet access.
The Andros Beach Club is the perfect place to escape for a week and enjoy a relaxing island adventure.

having just been to the beach club at the end of last year i knew what to expect upon my return.... jesse and chelsea are great communicators... we had spoken prior to our arrival at the congo town airport... since my last visit there were some noted improvements made at the beach club... jesse and chelsea go out of their way to accomodate....they offer options and alternatives to any plans you may have... the beach club is set in kemps bay in south andros... all of andros 'is off the beaten path' and it is very quiet at the beach club as well, which is a wonderful thing... complete seclusion...on/in the water activity was always a good time... jesse and my buddy paul did GREAT spearfishing a few quality sized grouper in short order... from these fish, jesse and chelsea were able to get a local fish boil made for our last meal... so GOOD... bahamian fish soup and fish sandwich sent us off in true native style... all made possible with the help of jesse and chelsea!!! i cant wait to get back there again...

This beach club is less a club and more like a unique, quiet home. The beach is your front yard and there are two hammocks to relax on. We stayed for 6 days, and it took about two days to unwind to the slower pace of South Andros. Jesse and Chelsea were on vacation, but checked in by phone and email to make sure we were enjoying our stay. Mary cooked our dinners and we enjoyed the local flavor. Bonefishing with Nathaniel was a success and so was snorkeling with Roggie. Roggie helped us catch lobster and conch for Mary to cook up. Riley and Duke protected the place and came for walks on the beach. This is a great place to go to get away from the hustle and bustle of cities, but still stay connected to family and friends via high-speed internet.

This was the best trip I have ever been on. The hospitality at the beach club and all over the island was amazing. If you want to get away from it all this is the place to be. NO resort here just relaxation and adventure. The options are yours to explore.
