Review of Jamie's Place

I can certainly sympathise with the French reviewers below, living only about five miles from Jamie's Place, we jump on a plane almost every year and head to France for a month of eating in superb restaurants (and a few bad ones too) !

But Jamie's Place is what we have here, and it is fast, home cooked Bahamian food in a basic cafe atmosphere. The place gets very busy at lunchtime with many dine-in and take out orders. You might have to wait a few minutes for a table. Don't expect wine wines or cocktails with your meal, this is an eating establishment.

Normally they have four specials per day, in addition to the menu regulars such as burgers, fried chicken etc. The specials are what what most locals go for.
Bahamian favourites include include Steamed Conch, Fried Fish, Steamed Stewed Beef and Pepper Steak.

The portions are large, the service is quick and the prices are very reasonable. You can probably skip dinner after eating lunch at Jamie's and use those saved dollars for a couple of sunset cocktails someplace else.

In this town of ultra-expensive second homes and pricey restaurants, it's nice to find a reasonably priced, simple meal. No frills restaurant, tasty Bahamian cuisine, friendly staff. If you don't want to drop $50+ per person on a meal, this is your place. And it's tasty!

This is a regular stop for us in Marsh Harbor. They serve a traditional American breakfast of eggs and breakfast meat, French toast on delicious Bahamian bread, and a variety of omelets. Looks to be a popular handout for locals. Some Bahamian foods as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed Jamie's. The food was great, the Sweet Tea delicious and the service was top notch. The specials vary, we had some great dishes from local fare to their hamburgers! This is a great place to go, relatively inexpensive and worth every penny!
