Club Viva Fortuna was beautiful, as was Grand Bahama in general. The resort has great landscaping. Beautiful flowers and palm trees everywhere. The rooms were really nice. Large and very clean. Out of this world beach and great pool. Many restaurants to choose from. Tons to do at the resort and on Grand Bahama.

I stayed at this resort in January 2003, with 3 friends. We could not have been more satisfied with all aspects of the resort. The staff was extremely friendly, the food was great, drinks were plentiful and awesome, the shows were lots of fun. We all had read some of the reviews and were a little apprehensive, but we were delighted to find out that the negative ones were for the most part unfounded. We all had a wonderful time and are planning our next trip with even more friends this time around. I have also heard that they have just done some renovating, so the rooms that were fine before, I'm sure will be even nicer now.

This is the nicest place I have EVER been to. Were were there Nov.
7-11, 2003. The rooms looked new and were very clean. There is not enough time to describe all the good things about Club Viva Fortuana and Grand Bahama in general. Out of this world beach, Beautiful resort (very romantic and tropical), awesome pool, great club, large variety of restaurants, nice staff, great location, I could go on and on. This place was the real deal.

We were a party of 8 travelling together as my now husband and i were getting married at the "Garden of the Groves". A further 4 joined us the week after. On the whole the hotel was good, the beach was fantastic and indeed sold the hotel. The food choice being all inclusive we thought was very good, plenty of choice and good quality.
The maids we had on a daily basis were lovely, very friendly and after my wedding made a point of asking how it went. We did have small insects in the room but they were very small and on the whole didn't bother us. The reception staff and bar staff however were hit & miss, some helpful others very off hand and surly. We had read reviews beforehand and were prepared to tip the bar staff - but our first impressions on our first day were of rude staff who didn't seem like they wanted to serve us - so we decided not to bother - they are after all there to serve us regardless. Saying that there were a couple of very pleasant welcoming staff but the rude ones out weighed the pleasant.

The animation staff worked very hard and were always pleasant. The shows they put on were very good a lot of effort had obviously gone into them.

The organisation leaves something to be desired, one couple of our party had a 3month baby - yet they put them on the first floor! with no cot (previously requested by e-mail). They also requested a fridge but gave up chasing after the 4th day......

As it was our wedding we were in discussions with the garden of the groves but whenever they phoned the hotel and left a message it was never forwarded onto us. I even asked if any message had been left and was told no.

Saying all that though, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and made the best of it, we knew before we went that it was a lower budget hotel due to the price in relation to the other hotels so were not surprised - in fact the rooms were of a good size.

It was only the attitude of some of the staff that really disappointed us, especially as we were at all times polite and courteous to them.

The resort was fine for a all inclusive getaway. The worker's were very happy to please and worked hard at keeping us busy..wonderful staff. Enjoyed the theater there and the rooms are fine, nothing luxurious but all we need to be ok away from home. The beach was wonderful and most rooms faced the ocean with a great view. The grounds were well cared for also. We were dispointed mostly in the way we had to pay for a taxi every time we went to town.{Freeport or Lucaya}.$23.00-27.00 FOR 4. EACH WAY. They do NOT allow city buses{which are $1.00 per ride} to come near the gate, since we had a friend in a wheelchair/walker,we couldn't rent a bike or walk. It cost us $200.00 more because we chose to go out once a day from the resort.A microwave to pop some popcorn became the joke of the evening, tho the theater staffer finally dug one out and popped it for us! We know there are micro's and coffee pots in the time share rooms but we did not have one.Tho I asked for one, you may want to know, there were not coffee pots in the rooms,I would've traded the iron in the very first morning! Our room tho close to the ocean, was about 70-100 ft. from the dining area, doesn't sound far untill you gotta walk after that coffee after a day before of many wonderful bahama mama's! As I'd read in an earlier comment, bring your own cup if you want more than 10 oz.,they only have one size. Overall a great trip and worth the money, great deal .

My parents took me here for graduation and I loved it. The staff was wonderful and made every effort to get the guests involved in the activities. Beach volleyball was a blast. Kyaking was great. The whole place is beautiful. But watch out for the crabs!
