Can't wait to visit Bertha's in a couple of weeks. Her homemade hot sauce is the best! All her food is yummy and fresh.

“The real deal. Best of The Bahamas.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2014

Do not, I repeat, do not turn away by any means as you hit Berthas. While for some the decor may be a bit down home, this place is the real deal and I have traveled extensively throughout the islands of The Bahamas to know. There were four things in the menu. Lobster, snappa, conch (cracked) and fried chicken. We had everything but chicken. No peas and rice, no problem. We opted for fries and salad. Berthas will only serve what's made fresh and no point in cooking up a whole pot of peas and rice on a quiet Monday afternoon. Make sure you ask for the homemade pepper sauce. Yum. I could go on but at $15 for a whole Snapper including sides this is hands down the best meal on the island. It's a bit tricky to find, right off millionaires row down the beach /street from Wyndham. If you get lost ask the cab drivers in front of the hotel. Oh and calm down if your drink takes a few minutes. You're on islandtime. Take a sec to enjoy and live in the moment.

“Best food on the island!”

Lobster and conch. Get it! Best service and food on the island. Just a five minute walk down the beach from Wyndham resort.

“Most memorable meal!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 9, 2014

Our group of six (4 adults and 2 children) went to Bertha's for dinner. When we arrived, it looked deserted but Bertha was there with her son and ready to prepare our meal. Dont be scared by this place. The people and food and great. They cooked a platter full of lobsters, snapper, fried chicken and conch. Also had salad, potato salad, beans and rice and more. Even got to prepare our own drinks while Bertha and son were in the kitchen preparing our dinner. Absolutely the most memorable experience of our trip. Even stayed and played "hook em", with some of the locals. Great experience!

“Good lobster at a good price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 8, 2013

Don't be discouraged by the run down appearance of the place! We walked here for lunch from our hotel, Viva Wyndham. We ordered the lobster meal and were very pleased with the two lobster tail portion, French fries and salad for just $25 each. Lobster was seasoned with lots of garlic and was yummy. French fries were definitely a step up from our hotels. Definitely worth the trip if you are looking for an affordable, fresh and delicious meal away from your resort.
