My husband and I visited the Port Lucaya Marketplace many times while our stay the Memories Grand Bahama Resort .. first it was so great to be right across the street from it and second it was a nice to be able to walk around and feel totally safe! The vendors are very friendly, helpful and oh so happy!! A few of them are quite pushy and get a bit offended when you browse but don't buy .. but .. when you know what you are looking for you will not buy from each and every one!! We found everything and more at the marketplace and each time we walked through we saw something different that we had missed the time before!! Of course had to stop for a few beverages and the staff at the restaurants we sat at were super nice and happy too!! Love that Bahamas!!

Lots of places to eat. Yes the ladies at the little stores ask you to come have a look around but all you have to say is, no thank you. They were all very friendly. When the tour people approach you just say it is your last day. Check trip advisor for best restaurants. Some much better than others. Nothing really great to buy there. Souvenirs are made in China. Unexsco Dive Place had the best gift shop.

Spend a day here when the weather is not great for swimming or snorkeling. You can find some bargains in the market place but look around a little before you buy as there is much to choose from and similar goods with varying prices. It's okay to barter but don't be insulting.

lots of jewellery shops, some bars and restaurant. It is really nice to wander down the streets, stop by the rum runner for a cocktail and have a good time
