I went here on a tour bus it was one if the stops so we didn't have enough time to shop enough I was able to get a charm at pandora so for my bracelet but I found each crafter carried a lot if the same thing I would of liked more variety didn't see any real deals but it is duty free shopping in the Bahamas so enjoy that if you want something they sell diamonds and jewlery but I wasn't looking for anything big this trip they also have phone booths there to make calls out internationally and restaurants that are reasonable

“Good bars”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 10, 2014

it is fun to go here. There are many shops and jewelry stores along with bars and restaurants. The straw stores sell mostly the same things but the jewelry stores have some different merchandise in each one. The food is good at the restaurants and the bars are fun. Well worth the time spent

“fun and entertainment”

this beautiful marketplace at the port lucaya marina with the count- basie- square, some bars and restaurants is,
especially on the weekend, a place to go for young people and young at hearts. live music at the band stand, limbo dancing and a lot more.
special atmosphere at the rumrunners bar and the corner bar. dine fine at the agave or
cappucino or cafe breeze(very good!) or molly malone (irish pub) etc etc
forget the pizza hut - no beer, no wine, no smoking outside (!) this restaurant is totally boring
and should not be on the vibrating marketplace.

“A bit of everything”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2014

When we go to Freeport we stay at a condo a 5 minute walk from the Marketplace. Place is clean with no panhandlers. You can find everything from local vendors clothing stalls to a straw market. High end jewelry stores and artists boutiques. Restaurants abound, you can go from high class service and food to every day bahamian. Here one can also book boat tours, deep sea fishing and scuba or snorkeling adventures. Fun to see boats at the marina and new arrivals. Some ofvthe boats are incredible. Just looking for a bar to indulge! you will find a good variety all offering happy hour specials. The Count Basie square offers great entertainment but for a first time tourist finding out about days and time of activities is hard to find. Talked to many tourists who had no idea that shows were a regular occurence. Would be nice if an activity board or panel were installed on the stage so that tourists would know when to attend. A fun place with something new to be found every day. Go there and have fun.
