Like many reviewers, we didn't actually stay in the units overnight. But we were shuttled in first thing in the morning, took the last shuttle out. Hated to leave.
I have to say, we weren't well treated on Grand Bahama, other than our visit to Paradise Cove. Often felt as though they'll gladly take our money but would prefer not to have us actually be there. Paradise Cove was a welcome exception.
First, during our research from home, Barry responded to emails promptly and informatively. Our driver, Nathan, had a wonderful wealth of knowledge as he became our self-appointed 'tour guide' on our ride to the facility. A warm welcome awaited us, a make yourselves at home attitude.
A wonderful beach for beachcombing. if that's what you like. Snorkeling was a big hit for all of us who availed ourselves. Cocktails were reasonably priced and a wide selection were readily available. The food is good but limited, although the conch fritters there were incredibly excellent, we highly recommend them whether you've never had them or are a conch gourmand.
Kick back, relax, THIS is what you want in the Bahamas.

We did not stay here, we just booked the snorkeling tour and had lunch, but the staff was very friendly and helpful, the beach was beautiful, and the snorkeling was amazing! We are definitely going to try to go again. I took 2 underwater cameras worth of photos and could have taken a dozen more. The coral itself was beautiful, but we saw all kinds of beautiful fish, immature conch, a sea cucumber, a school of rays, barracuda... What an amazing experience. That has to be the coolest thing I have ever experienced. I was a little worried about my husband because he is not a strong swimmer, but we opted to use flotation belts and that made it so much easier. Paradise Cove offers inexpensive wetsuit rentals and has several "rafts" anchored out in the water so you have a place to rest without damaging the coral. The price includes picking you up from your resort and dropping you back off, and you can stay all day if you like. A great value and a wonderful experience! Definitely go if you are going to visit Grand Bahama.

This is a wonderful getaway. We stayed at the bungalows Jan 13-15, and wish we had booked more days. Completely new to snorkling, Barry Smith gave us the best introduction we could dream of. From then on, we simply had the time of our lives. You can read about the fish elsewhere, but on our last day Barry plus a guest - Brian - caught 10 fullgrown lobsters. The bungalow, in which we stayed, were perfect. Almost brand new and very well equipped. The sunset from the veranda was undescripable. The staff were so friendly, and the atmosphere and tranquility of Paradise Cove Beach is so unique. We can't wait to go back and visit Barry, Yvonne, Smitty and the rest. Could not recommand this place more

We did not actually stay at Paradise Cove Beach Resort but will definetly book there on our next trip to Freeport. The villas are new, very comfortable and direclty on the beach. It is a beautiful secluded beach resort with some of the best snorkeling we have seen in a long time. We saw eel, rays, nurse shark and many species of beautiful and colorfull fish. The reef is beautiful! The owners are very gracious and helpful. We rented scooters in town and our party of ten rode out there to spend the day. The food was great and good price. We were very blessed to have found this wonderful resort, it was the highlight of our week.

Absolutely beautiful. It you like getting away, I would recommend this place. It’s secluded but has everything you need. The beach and the reef were splendid. The owners and staff were excellent. The reef was everything we could have imagined. We saw everything from man of rays to turtles to all kinds of fish. The reef goes from about 4 feet on the mainland side to about 35-40 feet on the outside. You can easily spend the whole day in the water, or just hang out on the beach. Grad a burger and a beer at the snack shack and enjoy the whole thing. It’s worth it.
Thanks to the Smith’s and there staff. Perfect!!!!
