went to Taino Beach as our ride told us itvwas the best beach. No surprise there! The beach is beautiful, gentle slope and nice waves. Sat in front of Tony Macaroni's as we intended to have lunch there. Rented beach loungers, they have about 20, for $5 each for the day. As this place gets busy, all chairs rented by 11:30. Music played was not head banging type but a mixture of bahamian and old classic rock favorites. Lunch was a bit of a surprise as the menu is very limited. But after all it is the "conch experience". The drinks were fine and the beer cold. Sands is the only beer served as it is a product of Freeport. No Nassau beer here we were told. Our food arrived but were surprised to see that roast conch is served in a aluminum cup and is actually more of a stew. Composed of onion, tomato, spices and lime/orange juice the broth is very tasty. The conch and shrimp ordered had big chunks of conch and a few shrimp. The only accompaniement was a very hard crumbly bun. We noticed that there did not appear to be running water available. Service was ultra nice, all smiles.
