We hated our room at The Atlantis (Royal Tower) as although a "smoke free' room, there was an overwhelming smell of stale smoke.
I visited the Cove and the front desk person suggested The Reef. The reception there was outstanding and the suite was lovely. So much nicer than the main hotel.

We stayed at the reef in the Bahamas in a 2bdrm suite with Harnour view on the 16th floor. It was AMAZING!!! You still get to see the Ocean and the night view of illuminated Harbour at night is beautiful.
Make sure you ask for the second bedroom with 2 double beds ( better for kids or big groups)\
Everything was great, service, rooms , staff....This is the best place for groups and family!!!!
Reef is close to all the amenities and other tower....rooms are great.
We are definitely going back!!!

Room Tip: If you take a 2bdrm suite ask for the one with 2 beds in the second bdrm.

Just returned from a trip to the Atlantis. It was our 1st visit to the resort. We are a family of 4 - 2 adults 2 children ages 4 and 7. We stayed at the Reef in a Ocean View studio on the 21st floor. The view was breathtaking and the room was very clean and accomodating. Read reviews and used the foodstore2go delivery service which was an excellent decision. We purchased the meal plan but the delivery service helped fill in; soda, water, fruit and snacks. They were prompt and I was very glad I used the service. We ate breakfast at Mosaic a few times and once at The Marketplace in the Royal Towers. We preferred Mosaic which is located next door at the Cove and was much quieter. We ate dinner at Cafe Martinque, Bahamia Club, Mesa Grill and Casa D'Angelo. Cafe Martinque was by far the best of all 4 and I would suggest skipping Mesa Grill all together. All of our entrees at Mesa Grill were undercooked. Maybe they had a new chef that night...not sure what happened there. There is an age restriction (6 and over) at Cafe Martinque but after speaking to the manager we were able to eat there. In general, the food is very good at the Atlantis but be prepared to pay. We ended up spending more for the food, drinks, wifi, etc then the cost of the room. Everything carries a 15% automatic gratuity and alcoholic drinks are not included in the meal plan. The meal plan only covers breakfast and dinner. Service at all the restaurants was excellent and the staff was friendly. I also recommend making dinner reservations before you get there. We enjoyed the Cascades pool which is exclusive to only the Reef and Cove guests as well as the private beach. We never had a long wait for a shuttle...the longest wait was 5 minutes. We also preferred staying in the quiter part of the resort. There was way too many people at The Royal Towers and we didn't care for the cigarette smoke smell from the casino. The waterpark was a blast. The kids loved all the slides and The Current Ride. I arranged a town car pick up and drop off to the airport from Kings. Thank you Lamorn! He was very friendly and on time. The weather was 80 degrees everyday and the resort was pretty empty. We never had an issue finding a lounge chair by any of the pools. Overall a great vacation! One we will never forget!

The Hotel itself is clean and the rooms are spacious. This is where anything nice that I can say ends. This place is not cheap and still they nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING! You want to listen to music on TV, pay. You want to go to the gym, pay. A bottle of water is $10. Insane. The staff is rude and nasty. Nothing is done with a smile on their face. I know this is work for you, but you're in the service business and tourism is your biggest money maker on the island, smile and don't do thing like you're doing me a favor, you're not, I payed a pretty penny for this experience. Also, before we left I inquired about the dolphin key experience, I did not book, I did not give my CC information or permission to charge it to the room. Now they are calling me and telling me I have reservations and if I cancel I will not be refunded. Insane! The casino personnel are horrible! The waitresses ignore you, the dealers insult you and give you attitude, horrible. Oh, and if you're at the reef, good luck finding food. You have a Starbucks and that's it. You have to go to another tower if you want anything to eat. The buffet is 35/pp and it's bad food. The food here, over all, is horrible. There are room fees, utility fees, gratuity fees, etc. etc. (that's in top of what you paid for the rooms!) I am never ever coming here again and I don't recommend you do either!

We love the Reef at Atlantis. This is our second time coming here but we made some new discoveries this time that will aid us in our next visit. And believe me, we will be back.
Let me start off by saying that the staff is always really nice and helpful !!

The rooms are large and have a small kitchen area which includes a mini fridge, microwave, stove top and table and chairs. The bed is large but I didn’t find it very comfortable as the pillows weren’t very firm. (just a personal preference probably) The bathroom is large and has a TV in it. The shower, bath tub and toilet are all separate. Housekeeping is still hit or miss whether you tip at the end of the vacation or every day. Meaning that the room is always cleaned but sometimes they don’t refill the paper products when they are low. One day they removed our towels and didn’t replace them. But a simple call to the front desk and they were there within minutes.

The prices in the hotel store and resort for that matter are expensive. But the items in the store are similarly priced to what you would pay if you used a delivery service. The store doesn’t offer alcohol, but has the essentials like toothpaste, deodorant, etc. But they also offer milk, bread, snacks, some frozen foods and drinks. A half gallon of milk will run you about $6 (usd)and Gatorades and juices will run you around $4-$5 (usd)
One thing we did find this time is that they have free washers and dryers on one of the levels. (laundry soap can be purchased in the store) Wish we knew that a head of time so we wouldn’t have packed so much. All I can say about room service is DO NOT get it. While again the staff is really nice, the food is extremely overpriced and isn’t very good. You are better off either bringing back food from one of the many places to eat or eating in the restaurants.

Side note, we also found out that if you rent a cabana at the Baths pool, (located on the other side of the Cove) for two days you get the third free. The cabanas have a small mini fridge and fan, and you have an assigned host and wait staff. The host can get towels or ice and the wait staff gets your food and drinks. Again, the food and drinks are expensive. If you do rent a cabana though, ask for Jasheed. He was always great, fun to talk to and made our stay even better. While we were not expected to tip the hosts, we always did as they constantly checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed or wanted.

Great stay at The Reef Atlantis Paradise Island. Big room with kitchen corner, big bathroom, comfortable bed, nice balcony with great view...
The Cascade Pool is fantastic and quiet. There is a zero-entry part for kids. The beach is absolutely amazing... but take coral shoes with you (except for the part near the coral reef).
The water park is very big with lots of different pools, slides, etc.
Some pools are especially made for kids.
The aquarium is worth the visit. Very big with some parts in open air.
The team of the hotel is very present, always there to help, always smiling.
Restaurants are very expensive, so we also cooked in the room or went for pizzas!
The Marina Village is very nice with restaurants, shops and a great atmosphere.
I would definitely go back!

Room Tip: Avoid 1st floor.

I was glad to be at the Reef Atlantis and residence 5* and to stay at the Atlantis resort. We were in a studio room which was large and comfortable; benefiting from a small kitchenette which was a great added bonus as we made all our breakfast ourselves. the location of the hotel is also on the edge of the resort so more quiet than if you are staying at the Beach 3*, Coral 3* or Royal Tower 4 * where you would be in the middle of it all. You have frequent free shuttle service to take you from one hotel to another including the golf course on Paradise Island. Be aware that the Restaurants and Activities are rather expensive. The Buffet Breakfast at Market place is $28.00 + 15% service to give you an idea, There is a great selection of restaurants from the Pizza Place at the Marina to Nobu. On plus side you have free access to the water park and on the negative side the Wifi come at a cost or the alternative is to use the PC in the library for a free 20 minutes only per day a bit of a cheek i think an hotel of that calibre should offer free Wifi at least in the the lobby of Each hotel if not in the rooms.
If money is not an issue then stay at the Cove this is the top End

Room Tip: Higher floors, were on the 14th Floor with great views over Nassau and the Cruise Ship
