This is my 3rd trip to Paradise Island, but my first stay at The Cove Atlantis. We stayed on the Club Level (21st floor) which, I'm sure, escalated our experience to prompt the 4 star rating. We were picked up at the airport in a stretch. Lincoln limousine. Very nice, but the bottles of water provided for us weren't very cold and one was used. We were greeted by incredibly friendly staff. We booked 2 adjoining rooms with an ocean view (rooms 21811&21813). They were spacious with 2 flat screen tv's, one with Bose surround sound (which also projects into the bathroom.) We paid $15/day for a personal refrigerator and $22/day for wifi for up to 4 devices. The wifi was strong enough to stream Netflix and surf the net at the same time. The hotel offers turn down service and provides complimentary water bottles. The towels are oversized, the shampoo, conditioner and body wash are from Red Flower and are amazing. You won't need your own as the bottles are 3.3oz each. The bathroom is marble and tile and stunning. You are also provided with robes, slippers and a hair dryer on the club level. The sheets could be softer, but the room thermostat that's programmable was a nice touch. There is a mini bar which we didn't use. If you so much as re-arrange the items in the mini bar, you will be charged. The club lounge is in the 22nd floor and is open all day. We ate continental breakfast there each morning. You'll find:
freshly squeezed oj
boiled eggs
cold cuts
Unlike other upscale hotels with club level access that I've been to, you can take canned beverages out of the club lounge and take to your room. We did this daily so we could have a cold soda as we woke up. PLUS+++. Lunch in the club lounge is non existent. As of 5pm, you get sushi, cheese, a chicken appetizer and some light desserts. Desserts are provided 7-10pm. We don't drink alcohol, but they provide that as well.
We ate at the buffet at the Mosaic restaurant which is fantastic. Expensive, but great. Dinner was $60pp (our 14 year old was considered an adult) and they add gratuity everywhere on the resort premises. I must say, since my last 2 stays on Paradise Island, the service has improved greatly. My prior memories are of grumpy staff that weren't in any hurry to do anything. I only ran across this once on this visit and it was at a poolside snack bar. We didn't try out Mesa (Bobby Flay's restaurant) because kids must eat before 6pm and we're all about a family experience. There is a Sundries shop at the Cove that sells drinks (no soda) snacks, toiletries, books, etc... The Reef building is next door with a Starbucks.
Room Service: This is why my review is 4 stars and not 5. Nothing we ordered was above average. We ordered multiple times and had burgers, fish nuggets, creme brulee, pastrami sandwich, club sandwich, pizza, fries, salad, and mac and cheese. The creme brulee had watery berries on top and the custard itself was terribly runny. The pastrami was really fatty and sparse for a $22 sandwich. Our last order of room service took 80 minutes to receive, but was told it would be no more than 45 minutes.
The Royal Towers, Coral Towers etc... absolute CHAOS. I mean thousands of people everywhere. We avoided those areas as much as possible. We traveled with our 5 year old, 14 year old and mother. There really is no reason to leave the Cove. The Cove offers an adults-only pool and the lounge chairs for the pool and beach were padded with individual fold over umbrellas. No other pool or beach area have chairs this nice... and they're complimentary. The cove itself is really calm and great for snorkeling and lounging. They have cabanas that sell out very quickly, so book in advance if you want that.
Dolphin Cay: our favorite experience. Absolutely amazing. $189/pp got us 1 hour with dolphins- deep water swim, petting session, and dolphin push across the pool. Out of this world. You can also walk there to observe free of charge. This is one of the best facilities in the world and they now house 14 Katrina dolphins that were displaced from Mississippi during the storm.
Mandara Spa: I had an enzyme facial $165. Skin never looked better. They offer a "turkish bath" which has an uber hot pool and then you dip into the cooler pool. It's not cold enough for me, but still feels good. The spa is in short walking distance from The Cove.
They offer scooter wheelchair rentals should you need those as well.
Overall, we'll come back and only stay at the Cove for the upscale nature and serenity. You just won't see a bunch of teens running around here. This is definitely where to stay if you can afford to do so (many celebrities were here during our stay.)

Room Tip: Club Level is a must

So, my wife and I just got back from the Cove Atlantis for our Honeymoon. Let me just say it was wonderful! So serene and beautiful, but equally fun and lively. I completely disagree with the reviews that say the hotel is "dated" and has constant repairs going on. Quite frankly, I only saw one day where there was some utility repairs going on by the Cain, but that was after pool hours anyways. However, like many of the reviews on here, it is true that it is on the pricier side of things. I will list some tips below, and I will also do my best to outline ways to save while you're there.

1. Dolphin Cay- Try to see if they have discounted rates for early bird spots. The day after we did it, we saw a deal that said if you go to the Dolphin Cay before 9am it's BUY 1, GET 1 FREE. Make sure to ask before you confirm a slot

2. Fish Fry is not a restaurant- Everyone kept telling us to go to the "Fish Fry," and we did... but once we got there it was a row of restaurants. Very neat area, but all the restaurants try to hustle you in. We went to Twin Brothers--Great food!

3. Buffets-- Expensive but if you go, go to Mosaic instead of Marketplace. It's worth the extra $5 you pay per person. It's better quality food.

4. Getting around on the property--The walk from the Cove to the Casino is a pleasant one but it gets old after 2 days. After that we started taking the property shuttles. They were so convenient, and the longest we had to wait for a shuttle was 5 minutes!

5. RENT A CABANA at the Cain! - We rented our cabana at the time of booking. If you are a "Casino Member," it's about $100 for the day. They are so relaxing and an easy way to stay near the pool. Order the Caribbean Jerk Skewers if you eat there.

6. Marina Village-- Great eats, great environment. So we just kind of stumbled onto Marina Village. It's located outside Atlantis, across the Coral Towers driveway. Carmine's is a good italian restaurant there with HUGE servings--great for family style dinners. Marina Pizza and Bimini Road are also very good value eats.

7. Mandara Spa-- If you decide to go here, make sure to mention the 10% off. They don't just give it to you. You have to do a reservation to guarantee getting a room together for a couple's massage. Also, give yourself more time there. There are saunas, pools, and plenty of ways to relax there, but once you walk out after your massage/service is done, you lose those included amenities.

8. Cool finds on the resort--
- There's free internet in the library at the Coral Towers. There's a couple computers there, and you can get 20 minutes of access at a time. Otherwise wifi is $19.99 per day with up to 4 devices. Netflix is available but with limited shows/movies.
- There's a movie theater in Coral Towers. They play numerous movies throughout the week usually with Nicolas Cage in them (jk). FIFA fever was going on when we went, so they were playing all the games on the big screen during the day.
- Atlantis charges you for towels, the Cove does not. So if you're going to the waterpark, grab towels from the Cove. You're paying for staying there, so milk it baby!
- There's a full Starbucks at the Reef (condos near the Cove).
- Take snorkeling stuff with you and explore under water. The water was up to our stomachs and we could still see our feet. Dip your head in and you will see schools of fish. Keep an eye out for stingrays.
- Restaurants to Avoid-- Nobu: Not very tasty and extremely small portions.
- Rashard Lewis, and some Heat execs were there too. We ran into Rashard Lewis a couple times and the Heat execs, but don't be surprised if you spot any celebrities. Kevin Hart and his whole "Think Like a Man Too" costars were there the week before as well.

9. Alcohol-- It's expensive at the resort, but you're paying for the service and such. However, I would recommend getting some Kalik (local brew) from the Beer & Wine stores downtown and storing them in your room's fridge. You can only fit up to 5-6 beers at a time, so we also got some wine too.

10. Have fun-- We're both value-seekers and love to eat tons of food, but don't forget that you're there on vacation and things will get a little pricey, but don't sweat it! You're in paradise after all!

Extra Tip: They have a Ben & Jerry's in Marina Village open till 11am (I think). Avoid going there too late though, it gets packed!

If you can afford to not ask prices ($12 for a coke- $18 if you want rum in it), then you will absolutely enjoy everything about The Cove. We are a family of 5 (+ a significant other) and this was our 2nd time staying at Atlantis. For our first visit we stayed in the main tower. Now that everyone is 21+, we decided The Cove was the place to be. Having visited previously, we were well aware of how pricey it is, so we just gave in and enjoyed.
That being said- there are definitely are few ways to save some $$$...
First- do NOT opt for the resort provided transportation to & from the airport. Simply get a regular taxi upon arrival or make arrangements ahead of time w/a local car service. Since we were a group of 6, we did the latter. We had Cheryl http://www.cherylbahamastaxiandtours.com/ pick us up and she was fantastic. She knew that our flight had been delayed slightly and was there waiting for us w/a jug of 'Bahama Mamas' to get our party started. Cheryl made 2 stops for us on the way to the resort. Second way to save some $$--stop at the liquor & grocery stores. If you plan to have cocktails by the pool- bring your own! As I mentioned in the first sentence, drinks are very pricey. You can absolutely bring supplies to the pool area and be your own bartender. Next- get snacks, mixers and bottled water!! I underestimated how much we would need, so by the last day, we did wind up having to buy from the bar (that's how I know how much a rum & coke costs!), but we did save at least some $$. On to the resort: we opted for 'club level' rooms, so upon arrival, we were escorted to the 22nd floor where we were served complimentary drinks, and given our key cards and wrist bands. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The amenities included with club level rooms: breakfast buffet, mid-day snacks and late afternoon happy hour w/free drinks from 5-7pm and pre-dinner hors d'oeuvres. We were very happy with the food choices, quality and quantity, and the convenience of simply going up 2 floors for breakfast & happy hour was great. We had 3 rooms- 2 w/king beds and 1 w/2 queens. Two rooms faced east and overlooked the entire resort. The other faced west and looked out over one of the pools, the ocean and the setting sun. The rooms were spacious and comfortable- the 2 w/king beds had sizable terraces w/table & chairs. The one w/2 queen beds had a 'Juliet' balcony. Each had a separate sitting area w/a pull out sofabed and a tv. Everything was clean and there were plenty of towels. I was slightly disappointed to find that children are allowed in the Cove hotel- I was under the impression that this entire part of the resort was 'adults only'- turns out it's just 'Cain' where that is the case. Don't be mistaken though- just because Cain is a 'child-free' zone- that does not mean it's quiet! If you are not a fan of loud hip-hop & club music- this is not the place you want to be. The atmosphere at Cain is energetic & vibrant- it is a fantastic place to party & see & be seen. The people watching can keep you entertained an entire afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the 'average' age range around the pool was probably late 30s to mid 40s. There were groups of 20/early 30 somethings going hard in the center bed area, but the over 50 demographic was certainly well represented, so as parents of 20 somethings, we didn't feel like we didn't belong there at all. We spent most of our time at Cain because the rest of the resort was incredibly crowded. We ate lunch at the pool and found the food to be very good- salads, tacos, burgers etc.- service was a bit slow one day, but it was very busy, so it was to be expected. Our stay was over 4th of July weekend, from the 3rd-7th. During that time span, not only were a lot of people staying on the Atlantis property, but numerous cruise ships arrived, bringing many visitors w/day passes to the water park. The lazy river can get jammed up w/way too many tubes during the mid-day hours- (it's still great fun though!). Traffic lightens up substantially later in the afternoon. The location of The Cove in relation to the rest of the resort can be summed up in one word: far- which is a good thing and a bad thing. We were able to access the lazy river via a short walk through the 'Baths' pool area and then we exited the river at various places to ride the slides and see other areas. Walking from The Cove to the main section of the resort and then onto the Marina Village area, where most of the restaurants are, can easily be considered a 'trek'- especially when it's hot & humid!- The rest of the resort was so incredibly crowded (and full of screaming kids!), we were happy to float along the river and then retreat back to the Cain pool. Since this review is so long already, I'll review the restaurants on their individual sites, but suffice it to say we were very happy w/every aspect of our stay- except for the sheer expense of it all- The Cove is an awesome get away!

Room Tip: All rooms have resort/ocean views- definitely worth getting 'club level' so you have access...

I spent July 4th weekend at the cove. Service at the hotel was excellent. Food at Mosaic and Mesa Grill was delicious. I do have a gripe. Water park opened late each day...any many of the slides opened late too. The staff was totally disinterested. I will NOT be returning any time soon.

Great hotel. Luxury rooms, pricey restaurants and very helpful staff. One of the best beaches I've visited is Atlantis Cove beach. Deffinetly worth every dollar. Make sure you take a cab to downtown and eat at Bahamian restaurants. You can also take a boat ride to downtown. We will be back for sure.

Was not sure what to expect based on the various reviews earlier. Stayed there for 4 nights 5 days during June and this was an absolute delight. This is really one of the best hotels I have ever stayed. The Cove is an all suite tower in Atlantis.

Here are more details:
1. Airport Pickup: Was very well organized and had a separate baggage vehicle
2. Check-in: was very smooth and warm service.
3. Rooms: The rooms are absolutely gorgeous with hugh bathrooms. We were on the 18th Floor facing the beach. All the rooms are suites and have separate bedroom and sitting area with 2 large LCDs TVs. There is a beautiful balcony with fantastic views of the paradise beach and atlantis towers. And you can see the ocean from the bed. The lightings are done very well as well.
4. Hotel Grounds: very huge with so many pools and beaches. there is also an adult only pool if you like less noise. The aisles and lobby are all light up in the evening like lounge with dim candle light and soft music. The Atlantis part ( separate tower ) is like a vegas hotel with shopping, casino, restaurants. The built in aquariums are awesome and huge. The kids will love it.
5. shopping: very expensive & designer brands.
6. Food/ Room Service: Very expensive. average meal should be around USD 100 ( Salmon/ Soup/ Perrier Water ).
7. Restaurants: Plenty of options. The breakfast place is huge. The Olive restaurant was excellent.
8. Activities: went for the snorkeling trip on sail boat. it was very good. the crew is very professional. Heard that the Dolphin feeding is also gorgeous. Most of the activities were great.
9. Mandara Spa: supposed to be very good and top class.
10. Service: This is the only caveat and probably what most people are complaining about. It is very slow and you have to be patient. They are not MGM or Bellagio /Vegas hotels where they can service 5000 rooms efficiently. This is not designed for lots of people. we were there as part of a large corporate event with 600 people. This is where the service got really slow. I can imagine but we were never bothered.
11. Beaches: Plenty of them. Not like the ones you will get in Bali or Maldives or Maui. but quiet and clean. Very safe and children friendly with the coves.
12. Other Things to Do: They have shuttle service to Nassau downtown. We prefered to chill out and enjoy the hotel.

Overall an excellent hotel and I would recommend if you just want to chill out and not bothered too much about the prices.

Room Tip: High Floor Rooms. They have separate price slabs. 5-22 floor are perfect.

We had a great time, while not an exclusive spot, although you will pay like it is. However what they lack in exclusivity they make up for with availability and convenience of casino, good restaurants, great beaches, fun adult pool and many more pluses.

The Cove Beach is great, never had to go through the stresses of chairs I hear that the other Atlantis beaches deal with, beach conditions and water was perfect. Service on the beach from the staff was also great.

The Cove (Cain) Pool, one of the highlights, we chose a bed by the plunge pool so we didn't necessarily have to mix with the folks in the main pool. It was rowdy but entertaining watching the main pool. Think Vegas light, but perhaps not that much light depending on who shows up.

Restaurants - I am a serious foodie from NYC, so trust me when I say that while not on par with standard night out in NYC, the food was exceptional particularly for a Caribbean retreat. Mesa Grill and the Dune at the one and only were our favorites. One negative - we both got sick from Cafe Martinique

The room - we chose a deluxe ocean suite, great selection, while I looked at the other more high end suites, they didn't offer much more than more space. The deluxe ocean suite was perfect for us, large bathroom, his and hers vanities, large walk in closet and great views! PS - the bed was super comfortable and the service again was great.

A lot of conveniences - stores, small shops, snack places, water park looked fun, aquarium also looked cool, just a lot of other things mixed in.

Lack of outdoor night spots, some of the nights were beautiful out, yet there was a major lacking of places to truly enjoy it with drinks and music. We walked around after dinner each night only to head to indoor lounges... while on a Caribbean vacation.. ??? hmmm.

The Cove beach should have some music going to, I hear the other beaches have that.

Challenges with some logistical items, not something I typically deal with at the Ritz or other nice hotels. Odd for such a well put together resort like the Atlantis. Service was fantastic otherwise. Occasional though people operated on "Island time".

Kids at the Cove, I once heard it was adult only even at the hotel, a shame they changed that policy.

Couple of towels in the bathroom had pre-existing stains.

The buffet at the Mosiac was overpriced, the seagrapes was better and cheaper but a bit of a walk.

I would definitely go back, but I think this place would be even better with a larger group. I would do it once as a couple but now I think I would try other places if just as a couple. Large groups can take advantage of many things to do together. I would definitely recommend the Cove, but I don't think I would ever stay at the other towers.

We also preferred the Moon Lounge over the Dragon Lounge.
