Upon booking the hotel on the website the grand total was not too high, that is why I assumed all the reviews written were wrong, but they were all correct you should defiantly stay away from this awful hotel...the total payment was in fact not the grand total and they charged us $190 in random "taxes & changes" A NIGHT! All the food is eh at best and the service was good, but you had to pay a 15% gratitude required which did not even compare to the sky high price of their food, you could not get away with eating for less then $50, and thats only for lunch, dinner was an average of 80$-$90 per person per meal. The staff is kind but only until you begin to question all the fees you will start seeing on you credit card bill, then they will be rude and not listen to a word you say and insist that they are correct. The water park is useless unless you have young children and the pools were just ok but defiantly overcrowded and when we went to get towels they didn't have any clean ones and had dirty towels lying around everywhere. Another downside I found is the most places (even inclosed places) anyone is aloud to smoke cigarettes or cigars and children are even aloud to walk through the casino.LASTLY do not go shopping, most of the stuff is fake and defiantly overpriced even with the no tax. When looking at the price of going, it doesn't make sense because of how many extra charges they take, you are basically only paying for the bed. PLEASEEE don't do my mistake and ignore the reviews, this is a horrible hotel and we were only two people, i cannot imagine how expensive it would be with more then that, they charge you for EVERYTHING. STAY AWAY!!!!

Our stay at the Royal Towers allowed us access to all the Atlantis has to offer including the waterpark. The dining package is a huge money saver and the dining options under the plan are all very good. The rooms were clean and the resort itself offered a lot to do both day and night. We tried out the comedy club and frequented the casino at night. During the day we enjoyed the waterpark and beach access areas. This is a must do for anybody thinking of visiting the Bahamas.

All I can say is that the staff is the RUDEST of ANY hotel or resort I have ever stayed at!!! NEVER coming back here!!! From what I hear, this bad attitude is rampant among hotels in the Bahamas where tips are automatically given (illegally charges to customer accounts) not earned.

We had gone here when it was new and before the Water Park. Clean, classy, and private. Our last visit in May was not so much. We wanted to take our Son for his Birthday. Cruise tours starting at 9:00 am. So there was a ton of lines walking around. Then the water park...could not find a tube for the floating river while the cruise extension was in place. Usually until around 3:00 when the cruise group had to leave. Lines were crazy for food hubs around the pools during this time as well. Pools and water park closed early. Somewhere around 5:00. Food plan was crazy! Everywhere we went other than the Buffet was way too much food! We ended up giving our servers leftover's because we had no way to eat it later. Example: Virgil's app was for 2 on each order...main dish for one was like 12 pieces of fried chicken? Crazy amount of food. A bunch of wasted food! Buffet is the way to go. Child care is extra it ran $60 for one night and the stop at 11:00. Then even more if you want to stay out later. The tanks were dirty. Mold all over the place. And, the rooms were not cleaned like a 5 star hotel! Our room smelled like smoke and mold. Still had to pay a tip that was part of the price for the maids. Kids running up and down the halls all hours. No wonder since the pools and parks were shut down so early! Service was on Island Time...Awful! Also, with an attitude.

I would recommend a Disney Cruise instead of Atlantis! Clean, food was awesome, all inclusive! They have their own island! Child care is included in the price, so you can stay out and have a good time as parents! You can do the water park at Atlantis on a day out. For a fee. It is probably worth the cost, if you like water parks? But eat on the ship! Atlantis will rape you on food cost.

Atlantis is know as a great family resort. Wrong! The resort is so expensive and there food isn't even worth the money. The water activities were great but other than that there is nothing that specail about it. Ya its a big resort and ya its looks really cool but i tell you don't waste your money!!! Your better off going to all inclusive hotels in the bahama!
