5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

Right I have stayed at both , here and Dubai ,, both are amazing though Bahamas is paradise and better for families in my opinion ,,,,... But be sure of 1 thing you will needs loads of money . I am quite ok for cash and like to think I'm not a Scrooge , but near $100 for 3 buffet breakfast , mine and my 2 children is beyond a joke that's $1000 for our 10 nights we do like to eat more than once a day and dinner was on average $300 that's another $3000 now add snacks and lunch , water drinks etc etc etc another $3 to $4000 hmmm work it out ,,, but place is beautiful

I stayed here for 4 nights, 5 days for a work function.

They keep all of the indoor areas WAY too cold! The hallway was ridiculous! They could save a ton of money by making the temperature more reasonable.

Our room was nice- nothing over the top. We were on the 6th floor and had a good view of the pool area. We could hear the waterfalls which was enjoyable.

Our room was cleaned each day and we really enjoyed retreating to it after the beach and pool.

The carpets in the hall way were replaced by cutting out pieces and inlaying them. I wonder why an exclusive hotel like Atlantis would choose to replace carpet in that fashion?

At the Atlantis the staff is well trained and friendly. However, the restaurant reservations line is unwilling to help you make reservations. If a guest PAYS for the meal plan, they should be given a reservation in the restaurant they want to eat in. The food prices are very high! My husband and I had 3 appetizers, a meal each no dessert, no cocktails and the cost was $200! (We were on the meal plan and because we're not eating dessert was asked to share an additional appetizer.)

All and all, this was a VERY relaxing vacation. I really needed to recharge my batteries and I was able to accomplish that. I would not choose to come here again. Bahamians think customer service is asking if you have visited the Bahamas before and if you are enjoying yourself.
You can ask for a glass of water 4 times before you receive one. One more hint- go to dinner 30 minutes before your hunger is raging, because it will at the very least take that long to be served any food.

This was my first trip out of the US in a while. Unlike others who have commented, our experience at the airport was seamless. Customs went much faster than I expected. If you are a gambler, the free room offer was easy to achieve. The casino is small and has few of the newer interactive slots that are available in the US, but it was fun and there was enough payout to keep you playing. We purchased the food plan which I would not do again. I could have spent a lot less if I had paid as I went. And if you get all that's offered on the plan, you get way more food than you want or need and then your gratuity is inflated. I believe the automatic gratuity diminishes the quality of the service. An Atlantis Experience Pass was included with our room, although I only took advantage of the Shallow Water Dolphin Interaction. That was a highlight of the trip. If you like animals, make sure you do that. Jill was our dolphin and she was a real sweetheart. The staff at the Dolphin Experience couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Our room was nice. We had balconies with great views. The rooms weren't new, but they were very comfortable and at least as nice if not better than most. The taxi service is private and ours ranged from the best to "we got there". Hotel staff (not including food service) was excellent. Beverage servers in the casino were very attentive. We had perfect weather in mid-February. There was more to do than we could fit in over 4 days. Overall, a very enjoyable vacation that I would happily do again.

Room Tip: If you're a gambler, don't pick the tower by the pool. I forget if it's east or west, b...

Atlantis is the premire Resort, fantastic for familes and packed with fun things to do. You need to budget appropriately. When done correctly it costs less than an all inclusive resort, if you are budget minded, stick with the meal plans and you can properly budget for your trip. If you do not budget, epect hire costs than if you would go to a restaurant back home. The Marketplace buffet is fantastic for breakfast and a great place for dinner. There are several upscale restaurants if want to splurge. The water park and pools are all included in your stay. This could take up your whole day in itself. There is 2 beaches, the main beach and the cove for those who want shallow water and small to no waves. The casino has all new games and is very much improved. Overall the property has many improvements over last year. On arrival the airport is new, if you arrive on Sat or Sunday expect lines at customs. You do not need to rent a car. Make transportation arangements ahead to get a better and more comfortable ride to and from the resort.

Room Tip: Check the web site often, look for deals such as airfare rebates and credits on food.

For what you pay, it seems a little overrated. Although the surroundings were absolutely gorgeous, the rooms themselves were in need of an update (especially the bathrooms). We unfortunately had to spend quite a bit of time in there because we were traveling with a toddler that still naps and goes to bed relatively early. The resort is nice, but make sure you have your walking shoes because it is quite a hike to and from the pools and activities. The one thing that was most bothersome to my family was actually the service. While all of the waitstaff we encountered were very friendly, they were not urgent whatsoever. We had to flag down other waiters for refills and still waited at almost every restaurant we visited for refills and the check longer than normally required. The steakhouse was good and Carmine's Italian were the best restaurants there and the portions were quite hardy. If you are on the meal plan, they will hound you to purchase an appetizer, entree and dessert to add up their 15% gratuity that is already placed on the bill. Another thing is that if you are traveling with a child under two, wait until they are three to come here. There are soooo many more things for 3 year olds to do rather than 2 year olds. They have a lot of activities for children 3+. Unfortunately, our 2 year old was stuck in the wadding pool. I have had a better time at other resorts.

This property is overwhelming and gorgeous. It is for both couples and families. My husband and I travel to this destination every year for our anniversary. We keep bringing different couples each year and they absolutely love it, too. This time, they upgraded us to a beautiful suite. The room was probably bigger than my first apartment and what a view! For those that enjoy fine dining, you must eat at Cafe Martinique, the Bahamian Grill and Mesa grill. The service and food are extraordinary. During the day, there is fun for everyone. Swim with the dolphins, take a stroll to view the mega aquariums, slide down the slides or relax on the lazy river. My husband and I have been there seven times and it gets better each time. There is always something to do. Try the comedy club or the casino for nightlife. Love it!,,,,,,

Room Tip: The Royal Towers is beautiful and centrally located. The Coral and Beach Towers are nice if you are...

I was a little worried after reading so many negative reviews but we had a great time over Winter Break this February. Our 4th floor corner suite in the West Tower was spectacular with an ocean view and three balconies--two large and one small. Our 16 year old slept on the sofabed in the living room and had his own bathroom, we had a king size bed in a separate bedroom with our own luxorious bathroom. We also loved the central location of the Royal Towers.

We enjoyed the beach, Aquaventure, the deep water dolphin swim, an off site snorkeling trip and shopping. We ate at Bimini Road on Wednesday night and finished up just as the parade was to begin around 8pm. Other places we ate included Virgils BBQ, Lagoon Bar & Grill, Waterfalls Cafe (?), The Point Restaurant and none of them were very good...they were adequate and average at best. Portion sizes were VERY big and the only really good meals were at the "fine dining" Bahamian Club and our room service breakfast. The drinks, however, were fantastic everywhere we went!

We didn't have any problems with service, cleanliness, etc., and we spent exactly what we expected to spend...it wasn't a budget vacation. I would recommend it to others considering a vacation in the Bahamas and we are all really glad we went.

Room Tip: 4th floor ocean view corner suite in the west tower was perfect!
