We had a combo platter of ribs, pulled pork, brisket and something else. The portions are huge. A family of 4 can easily share a combo platter with 2 sides. This will be the most expensive BBQ you have ever had.... but good

The restaurant is located by the Coral Towers section of the resort and overlooked the Lazy River. Staff was friendly, food was excellent and the restaurant was really well kept, bright and comfortable. Go hungry and with a large group.

This restaurant serves family style but was not told that until after we were seated. They did allow us to get a half portion and split it but it was still too much for two normal people to eat. Didn't matter though as most of the ribs were not edible. They were done Memphis style with a dry rub. They were very fatty and had a rind on the bottom like a ham hock. So in the end we managed to pick off just enough meat for a dinner. However the price was still outrageous. Besides the half rack of ribs we had biscuits and split a salad. The bill was over $75 which I would not have minded if it was a decent meal.

We were on the meal plan so my wife and I ordered everything we were entitled to. Due to the crazy portion size this meant we left with enough food for breakfast and lunch the next day. I went for the 38oz steak and almost managed to finish it, cooked perfectly. Also managed yo be served by the friendliest server on resort. All in all a perfect evening

Basically the title is my review. Does Virgil's bring a lot of food to the table? Yes, definitely. Is it worth the price. Nah. We split our entree between the brisket and ribs. The top slices of brisket were good, not great and the hidden slices were trash. I suppose they don't expect guest to eat everything they bring to the table. The ribs were ok. A little tough and sparce in the meat department. For sides we ordered the greens and macaroni. This is were the real disappointment came in. We were told the greens were cooked with ham hocks when they were really cooked with bits of bacon. Not real bad, but extremely sweet. What was real (and I mean REAL) bad was the macaroni and cheese. Honestly it was what one would expect at a place that catered birthday parties for very young children. Absolutely, positively awful. Before ordering our waiter (the same one that said the greens were cooked with ham hocks) told us it was cooked and slightly baked. A better description would have been velveta shells and cheese without the shells and baked under a heating lamp. Don't get me wrong shells and cheese are fine when that's what you are paying for and when it's not called macaroni and cheese. Did we eat and have lots of food left over? Yep. Did we want to eat it later? Nope. Was it a decent (not good, but decent) value? No, not even by Atlantis standards.
