“I did not stay, but passed through to view it”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2013

My review is NOT about a stay here, but coming after 6pm when its FREE to wander.

We decided to come here after 6pm to check out the aquarium.
While the vast windows look impressive when approaching, a closer look into the tanks shows that there is minimal varity or vibrant color inside them.

There are plenty of gray swimming fish, but I had anticipated with such a large hotel with a great reputation, that there would be more bright tropical fish (that I had seen on the reef during a catamaran snorkel a few days before) had shown me to be native to the island.

There is an area to walk through where there are more varieties, but there were no plaques to identify these fish. Idenification would have been helpful to know what we were looking at.
There are 'fish guides' that can be picked up at the entrance, but there were none to be picked up at this time.

Walking through this hotel, it is very tidy and large. People everywhere.
There were signs on the walls to explain via an arrow where this tower or that tower was, but nothing noting what would be at that tower.
A more comprehensive list showing places to eat or shop would have been nice rather than wandering aimlessly, sometimes ending up near elevator bays that would go to rooms, but not something for us visiting just the hotel to see.

The outdoor market area with the boats & yahts was pleasant. Vendors were open, and music was playing.

Atlantis was worth the walk through (we lasted about 2 hours), and happy we didnt pay the day pass fee of $150. I would have been disappointed.

We were there at the end of Oct. so the water park wasn't too crowded. Everything there was way overpriced, There is a Dunkin Donuts across the street where we went for breakfast every day, there also is a restaurant called Anthony's next to the donut shop that has great food.

Loved it! Lovely resort, very big but the exercise was good. The room was spacious and clean. Wasn't a fan of the lunch we had at Virgils on the day off arrival, food was cold. Everything else we had to eat was great though. Greg from Olives was very informative & accommodating, friendly guy. Shout out to him. Levetta at the concierge was great, really appreciated her help. My boyfriend really really enjoyed the Auqaventure, he's more of a water fan than I am. All the staff we came across were really helpful. The food can be pricy but other than that WE LOVED IT. Also the water ferry to downtown was educating. We walked around & shopped. Had lunch at Twin Brothers by the Fish Fry, lots of conch lol yum yum yum!

Room Tip: Do not select the harbour view room.

I received a call last night by atlantis staff that if I did not spend more money and time in the casino they would take away casino promotion rates
The threat really wrecked the vacation
There are also allot of individuals using the water park who were from cruise ships so lines were long except early on the morning and latter in the afternoon

Upon arriving my first impression was Wow,tnen learned the meal plan only is for breakfast and dinner.not a big deal only lunch .. we had an ok meal at a barbque place where a pulled pork sandwich was 22.00 and beers were 6.75.. after we went to explore this beautiful theme park to be hustled everytime we thought something looked fun.dinner at mesa grill was good not worth 300.for two adults and one child.oh and you cant subsitute anything ,i tried to get a plain baked potatoe instead of french fries but was told that they were pre made with horseradish sauce.basicly you were ripped off by a staff of unhappy people.so if you think its paradise i hope you just won the lotto to enjoy yourself.i will not go back or recomend anybody to attempt to.Dominican republic was so much more fun and everybody was so nice and accomadating.

Atlantis is a great resort, but the food and drinks are ridiculously priced! Go off the property to eat and buy duty free alcohol in Nassau. The rooms are very spacious. The staff was very accommodating.
