“Good way to experience Atlantis especially with a group”
Reviewed March 27, 2011

We spent 4 nights here prior to our wedding at Compass Point with several friends who attended the wedding. Overall, we had a great time and would come back again.

The only problem we encountered was the smell of the rooms. The first room we were given had a very strong "latrine" smell to it. We hoped it would air out so we left it for a few hours during the day but when we returned at night it still had such a strong smell and was giving me a headache. We went to the front desk and they were very accommodating and showed us another room, but that one unfortunately smelled like smoke (even though it's a no smoking hotel). We knew not all the rooms had a smell to them because the rest of our group had fine rooms, so we went back again and the third time was a charm and our room was great. The rest of the vacation was fine from there.

Even with that hiccup the front desk was very accommodating and I really feel that if you are not completely happy with what you have been given just be nice and ask if they can do anything for you. Being nice usually works wonders.

The pool there was great too and it was nice to hang out there for a break from Atlantis. Breakfast was fine for a continental, although I must say I was sad to see all the styrofoam plates and plastic utensils they go through. That's really hard on the environment.

We would stay there again if we wanted to go to Atlantis (which is fun in small doses)!

The rate we got for the room was average. And, with all the taxes you pay while in the Bahamas, overall I suppose it was cheaper than Atlantis. The breakfast was fine. The hotel was clean. Pool area was nice. BUT, no one really seems to go to this property for this property. It's all about Atlantis. It is convenient. You can use all the Atlantis amenities. Atlantis is like being in Florida but with higher prices and clear blue water. It's all so very American. It was fun to explore but we wouldn't go back. We were on the trip to do a shark dive at Stuart Cove's Dive Center. That was amazing. Atlantis, eh, it was OK. To get more of an island feel, stay downtown or Cable Beach. The Comfort Suites hotel staff were friendly, efficient and professional. It's a decent property.

Just got back from Spring Break with my husband and 2 teenagers.
Room was plenty big enough for the 4 of us and was clean with good housekeeping.
Front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Breakfast was what you'd expect and there was always plenty of it.
Went into Atlantis every day and this was the perfect location to do that.
Yes, eating out was expensive, but the cheaper places like Johnny Rockets and the Pizza place at the marina meant you didn't have to break the bank every night.
Would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

First stayed here with my family about seven years ago (because of a good TripAdvisor report) and have returned five more times. As other reviews note, this is a typical Comfort Suites hotel (which means average motel quality) that has the important advantage of full access to Atlantis without having to pay Atlantis's exorbitant room rates. In addition to that what I like about this place is:

1. If you have enough Choice Reward points you can stay for "free". Now free actually means $12.95 person/night energy surcharge and $5 person/night for maid service, but that's better than an additional $200+ per night.
2. Free parking. This is particularly nice since we think Atlantis restaurants are poor quality and expensive, and we want to go eat at various places in Nassau, which means a car is useful.
3. Free wireless internet.

They have upgraded their TVs recently and provide HBO. The rooms are showing wear and tear, but the maid service is good. Breakfast is typical modest continental.

Stayed for 4 days - end of Feb to beginning of March. Staff was so friendly and helpful both at CS as well as Atlantis! Soooo close to Atlantis - just down the hall, out the door, down the steps and across the street....really! Maybe 1 or 2 minute walk and you're at The Marina Village, which is on the Atlantis property - we went twice a day.
The CS free breakfast was really nice - bagels, donuts, pastry were all very fresh, coffee was good. Hubby chose to order eggs and sausage for a very nominal price. The little covered outdoor patio by the pool was a great place to have coffee and a bagel and start the day! Bottom line is that if Atlantis didn't exist at all and I wanted to have a nice little 4 day getaway with hubby, I'd definitely stay at this sweet, pretty and congenial hotel!!

My husband and I stayed at the CS July 13-20, 2010. It was the best trip we've gone on since our honeymoon. The CS is not a 5 star hotel by far, but it's relaxing, clean and the best bang for your buck. We are not picky travelers. We've camped in the wilderness and stayed in tents outdoors in Haiti post-earthquake, so we can make do anywhere. If you are nit picky this may not be the hotel for you. We took a taxi to Paradise Island from the airport for $32. Our room was available promptly because we arrived right at 3pm. I received a HUGE discount from a discount program through my job and we only paid $124 a night for our room!!! The staff at CS were very helpful on our first night there our air conditioner was leaking water and someone came to fix it promptly. We mentioned he was going to get something to eat at Wendy's and offered to take us or pick something up for us. We declined but he did direct us in the right direction so we could find it the next day. Beware of the people at the excursions desk, they try to get you to sit in one of those meetings to get you to buy something and offer you an excursion or dinner if you do. If you'd like to that's fine, but if you don't and you're not firm by letting them know that you are not interested they will harrass you until you either do or you leave. LOL! Be firm and make it know that you are not interested.

We got our cards and immediately headed over to the Atlantis to enjoy the Aquaventure water park. We quickly fell into a routine for each day. We'd get up for the breakfast at CS early to miss the crowd, take a water taxi $3 or walk over the bridge to see the sites of Nassau and shop we found a grocery store which was maybe a 15 min. walk straight across the bridge and bought all of our beverages and snacks for our room, this store was WAY CHEAPER than any of the convenient stores on PI. We also bought sandwich bags to put our paper cards in so they wouldn't get wet on the rides. We'd get lunch intown as well. There's a McDonalds, Wendy's, KFC, Burger King, Hard Rock Cafe and lots of native restaurants to choose from. We'd head back to PI around noon, change and spend the afternoon at Aquaventure. We found that alot of the families had left by then to enjoy lunch so it wasn't as crowded. The workers at Aquaventure were EXTREMELY helpful. The sandwich bag with our room keys and debit card, and access cards found it's way out of my husband's buttoned pcoket on his swim trunks one day, but one of the guys went down one of the drains by the leap of faith that destorys stuff that falls out of pockets (so it doesn't end up at the bottom of the pools) and retrieved it. How nice of him to do this!!

At 6pm we'd head back to the CS to shower and rest for a bit before heading out to Marina Village to have dinner. After dinner we'd go to the theater at Atlantis to catch a new release movie (all CS guests have full access to Atlantis including the movie theater). The theater opens at 5pm for family shows and has a 7pm show and 9pm or 10pm show. They also serve snacks in the theater, but we'd bring our snacks that we purchased at the grocery store or sometimes we'd bring our dinner like pizza or wings in and we were allowed to eat right at the movies! To the people that complained there was nothing to do after the water park closes this is an option. There is also a comedy club, the casino, and concerts at different times (Katy Perry was there during our stay, but we didn't go to the concert). After the movie we'd walk around the resort enjoying the serenity of it all and head back to CS to do it all over the next day.

This by far was a great vacation and I can't wait to do it all over again this summer!!
