I went to a restaurant there and wine was spilled on my mother and there was a lot of banging around. The food was great, but like everything in Atlantis, it is expensive. I would still recommend you go though, because it is in an amazing location, and besides the kitchen staff, the staff is wonderful. If you go, I hope you like it as much as I do. I look forward to going there again!

I went with my husband and a toddler son for a baby-moon to One&Only because we've heard such wonderful reviews from our friends about other One & Only properties. Unfortunately we didn't know that this one is owned by the same PE group as The Atlantis, hence the poor quality of service. Not to mention that you get the Atlantis crowd visiting your "exclusive" hotel at all times.

We stayed in room 2026 which is right across from the outdoor party space. After the first party we asked to be transfered to another room as the noise and music from the party were disturbing us but we were told that the hotel was full. One night the preparations for the upcoming wedding went on until 2am making it impossible for us to have a restful night.

The so-called kids club didn't have any activities. We were told that there weren't enough children staying at the resort to warrant setting anything up for the duration of our stay. We were still able to bring our son to the play area which would have been good if it were ever cleaned or organized. The attendant was watching TV on all the occasions we went there and the art supplies and garbage were scattered around for days.

The kids pool which was supposed to be heated was not, due to the fact that our child was the only one at the pool. So he had to sit in the cold water The attendants at the pool and the beach were extremely slow (it would take 30 minutes on average for an iced coffee).

This hotel employs a large amount if people but the service is extremely slow. Over one hour to order a room-service lunch. Employees stand around chatting everywhere and ignore you completely. I can go on and on...

We were very disappointed with the level of service. When we complained to the GM he apologized and that was it. After that we just lowered our expectations and tried to enjoy as much as we could. But we would never go back or recommend this hotel to anyone. For the money that they charge for their old rooms and average food at the Jean George restaurant, the service should be perfect. The food should be amazing. And it wasn't even good.

hi there just back from the one and only in the bahamas. second time. this time it was not very good. we paid for a room, 2000 a night. apparently every one gets two glasses of champagne a night with chocolate covered strawberries, not us, no apologies no acknowledgement. we did not get it. we got it one night out of 3 don't forget we are paying a lot for a room. the women at the front desk are frosty chilly. they have actually become some of the clients except that the clients now could not ever be as chilly as the women at the friont desk. perez audrey you are the best. please a champagne cocktail will cost u 35 dollars they won't take it off your bill and WE WILL NEVER GO BACK.

Room Tip: do not go--wepaid 2000 a room and still did not get good service except for audrey and perez

My daughter, her friend, her friend's mother - who is also my friend - and I just returned from a 4 night stay at the One and Only Ocean Club in Paradise Island in the Bahamas. The girls went for the Spring Break atmosphere but the older adults went for a relaxing vacation. All of us weren't disappointed. The exclusive atmosphere begins when you're greeted by not one but two doormen who welcome you by name as they open the doors in stereo. We were then greeted by Bridgette who quickly served us pink lemonade and checked us in. Our first stop, after dropping off our bags in our adjoining rooms was lunch by the pool. I don't know if it's because we were jet lagged and very hungry but our lunch by the pool was the best meal we had in the Bahamas. I had grilled salmon with a tangy, spicy sauce and mixed vegetables. We also had drinks - drinks here are Manhattan-priced and more... $18 for a cocktail and $16 for a glass of house wine. After lunch we quickly changed to get to the beach. The beach is absolutely beautiful, breathtaking - a quick minute stroll from our room. The room was adequate but the bed was amazing - the most comfortable sleep ever - complete with luxurious Frette Italian sheets. The great thing about the beach besides the view was that there was sunscreen available gratis if you forget yours. And, there's plenty of nooks to drop your shoes in so they don't get sandy. There are butlers available to set up your chaise, complete with its own covering and flag to signal the hosts and hostesses that your glass is empty or you need a bite to eat from the restaurant adjoining the beach, Dune. The restaurant, Dune, is more than you'd expect culinarily but just what you want visually - a covered open air deck perched on the perfect beach. After a couple hours of sun, I strolled up to Dune's bar and was warmly greeted by the attentive bartender, Bruce. The other guests we met were a family from Toronto with their two teenaged sons, a divorced dad with his adorable 12 going on 30 daughter and two long-time friends from New York City. Late night at the bar is also fun, especially if you like a challenging game of backgammon. Ask Garvin to play - you will be quickly absorbed by his skill. Dinner at Dune was superb - but so are the prices, count on $100 per person. But, Dune is the brainchild of international chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. The Chef has restaurants in Las Vegas, London, Paris and Shanghai, as well as his namesake, New York's Jean Georges restaurant. The Ocean Club is the sister property to the sprawling amusement park, Atlantis. The girls went to Atlantis and weren't impressed by the waterpark. They compared it to a local waterpark - Hurricane Harbor. But, Atlantis was our nightlife choice. The casino was fun and the action kept us entertained without losing our shirt. Everything at the Ocean Club is superb - but the prices are too. And, at $1000 per night, you expect your room keys to work every time. You expect housekeeping to be available to make up your room 24 hours a day. And, you expect not to be charged for the minibar if you don't use it ($5) - which isn't a lot but a dollar is a dollar. I took off the 5th star off for those reasons.

Room Tip: For a few dollars more, it's worth getting the ocean view rooms. The view is amazing.

the hotel needs updating in areas - the service is mixed - what the staff lack in training they make up with being extremely friendly - the general manager never introduced himself or was seen amongst the guests which in itself speaks volumes - the staff have the capability to be great but need better traning - 5 star american resort hotels seem to lack that something special- it isnt the four seasons from a service perspective - the fact the hotel is owned also by the same person who owns the atlantis which is literally next door makes it seem less special and the staff tend to recommend restaurants over in the atlantis and the marina area which again is all part of the same group. the sea is beautiful pity the atlantis guests walk along the same stretch of beach - the pool is nice - the fitness centre is good - i wouldnt go again but simply because being next door to a 2700 room hotel rather spoils the image of paradise.

Room Tip: the rooms by the courtyard restaurant i would avoid

Just returned home from the One and Only in the Bahamas and had to write a review. It was absolutely amazing. The staff was beyond friendly and courteous!! They represent the true meaning of customer service. From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave they are making sure you are being taken care of. The restaurants are amazing - food and service are top notch and I am extremely picky. As soon as you step foot on the beach or go to the pool someone runs up to you to set up a chair for you and get you fresh towels and cold bottled water. They provide magazines and sunscreen for you. I have traveled all over the world and I must say the one and only rates in one of my top 10 places!! Spend the extra money and go to the one and only and avoid the Atlantis!! I give the one and only 5 stars.

So you are willing to spend a $1,000 a night IF you are guaranteed an amazing experience that you will never forget? If you can go anywhere (Hawaii, Cabo) I say keep searching….as this hotel will not meet your expectations. There are good handful of hotels out there which can deliver on all counts (rooms, pools, food, service, grounds, exclusivity). The Ocean Club falls a little short in some of these areas. However, if you already plan on visiting Nassau and you like to stay at the best of the best regardless of the value then this is the place for you. The service was a little slow but just fine for us and the staff was warm and friendly. The grounds were beautiful with WOW ocean views and lots of spots to find peace and quiet to read a good book. The adult pool is on the smaller side but the gardens were a nice change of scenery. The rooms were just OK but clean and comfortable. The food was enjoyable but not incredible. You are going to like it…just not love it. Yes, it’s just fine if you don’t expect too much for the rate.
