I live in NY and have been to Carmines a lot of times and always enjoyed the service and the meal. I was thrilled when I foudn one in the Marina Village on Paradise Island. We made reservations months ahead of time so the wait wasn't too long. We ordered our usual appetizer of fried calamari for 6 of us and garlic bread. It was exactly the portion we had expected which was more than enough. We had some leftover to bring home. We ordered 2 entrees, chicken scallopini and shrimp scampi plus a side of angel hair pasta. When our entrees came we were a little shocked. The portion was a bit smaller than we had anticipated. We got 10 breaded shrimp in no scampi sauce and we got 10 very small and thin chicken cutlets that had been cut in half so they werent even full pieces. The pasta came to us wiht nothing on it. No marinara or anything. We took the chicken scallopini sauce and drizzled that over the pasta so we made it work. It turned out that we had just enough food but not enough for seconds and our portions were very small. We were a little afraid to order dessert so when we ordered our usual titanic we wanted something else to go on the side but they had run out of the tiramisu and tartufo so we ended up with just the titanic. It was huge and what we were used to. I feel that Carmines on Paradise Island is equivalent in taste and price but not in portion size. Sitting in this restaurant i did feel like i was back at home at my Carmines in NYC.
