Great staff in this cafe, just like everywhere we've been in Nassau during this trip.
The cafe is situated on the Main Street where all the tourist-trap designer clothes shops and jewellers are located, along with the Straw Market which peddles tat. The obese lemmings pour off the cruise ships into the clutches of these traders, in a daily ritual. Skans cafe is incongruously "real" in such an otherwise plastic environment. Good.
The food is average, bacon and eggs best, coffee fairly disappointing as it is everywhere in the Bahamas for some reason. Avoid the sausages - again, like the coffee, they seem to have only one generic supplier for the whole country. Horrible little thin sausages that don't taste like pork at all.
I enjoyed it - there's a good atmosphere with the local customers and staff; also the view of the street passing by is entertaining, watching Nassau's beautiful people go by.
