My wife and I recently visited family in Nassau. While there they suggested dining at Sapodilla, a recently opened restaurant. It was a tremendous experience. The restaurant is part of an estate, and the building itself was originally constructed as a way for the estate owner to entertain guests. The architecture itself is wonderful, with a conical central ceiling. We were seated in this area and listened to local music (softly played, a real benefit) while having drinks and reviewing the menu. We were then seated at one of a number of tables arranged around the central area. The service and food was fantastic, I'm unsure why others have commented negatively in this regard. Two added bonuses: one of the staff gave us a guided tour of the facilities after dinner, with local history; and the restaurant has a humidor containing a sufficient variety of cigars that are the real deal Cubanos. (Don't bother buying from the cigar store in Atlantis). All in all we had a great experience. It is expensive (meal for four, with dessert and drinks over $500), but most any place decent in Nassau is. Prepare to be spoiled and have a great meal!
