For a very small country, this is a charming and wonderful experience. Full of Bahamian art and such a lot of talent.

When we visited in March 2014, the second story was closed for setup of a new exhibit so we think that's why we were only charged $3 admission. Worth the stop when exploring Nassau on foot though it is a few blocks from central downtown.

It was fun to walk through this two-story building to see the kind of art that comes from the Bahamas. Worth a stop!

$5 entry fee is worth the short visit. Nassau doesn't have the cultural history that Puerto Rico does and its government invests more in the tourism industry than PR, which encourages its young people in the arts. But this is about the Bahamas.

We saw the main exhibit covering the sinking of the Bahaman fish boat by Cuba in 1980. It was a pivotal moment in history and shown in detail that the art museum.

Nice break and view.

This is a true national treasure. Very happy I was able to find this (a few blocks from central downtown area, up a hill). Admission was only $5, amazing! my husband got a student discount, his admission was only $3! very reasonable. Gift shop had fantastic examples of local art for sale. I really enjoyed the exhibit which showcased Bahamian art since independance to modern times. very, very enjoyable paintings and sculptures. Artists they chose were very talented and captured the spirit of the islands. Gorgeous view from upstairs balcony. Building itself is impressive. Fantastic interiors. Beautiful historic design, lovely air conditioned galleries. I was quite moved by the exhibit about the Bahamian seamen who were killed by Cuban military.
