“Great for snorkeling”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2013

We stayed at the Sheraton and this beach had wonderful sand, breathtaking beautiful water, and the best off the beach snorkeling we were able to find on the entire island.

“One of the best”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2013

Long and wide, good water entry- safe to swim. Did not like; 1) not too much shade, new high buildings (hotels) coming right on the beach

“best beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2013

We spent 8 nights from 5th July 2013 and the stay was quite a relaxing one. The weather was good despite the occasional rain and threats of Tropical Storm Chantal. The ocean view room on the 8th floor offered a great view of the emerald green water and blue skies.
There was plenty to eat and drink which was available throughpout the day and up to 3am.
The bus is only $1.25US to downtown Nassau, duty free shopping and lots of see of the cuklture and history. Fish Fry is a couple minutes from the hotel if you fancy a bit of the local culture and cuisine. The island tour guide was the best we ever had on any overseas trip.
The beaches were great and it was like swimmming in a lovely pool, at front of hotel, although hotel also offered a few pools and hot tub.
The music and songs were repetitive each night but who cared when everyone was friendly and atmosphere with people from all over the world were there?!

Cost us £51 each per night. However we wanted to spend another night but was told it will be $210.00US which was about £150 each so didn't take up the offer.

Only one day the cleaning of the room was not up to standard - the maid did not leave any toiletries and pulled the duvet over the mattress without changing or even dusting or shaking out the used sheet. We complained and Rosalie a casual cleaner was sent up. She was marvellous and gave our room a thorough clean and even gave me a red and whote flower garland as a means of apology.
I would recommend Rosalie for a full time job at this Hotel anyday for she was very kind and helpful and did not complain at all for being called in to clean our room after the unsatisfactory state it was left by the original maid on that Thursday 12th July. I felt sorry for her shoes hurt her feet for she was at work all day until we had complained late at night about the state of the room. The regular cleaner was off duty as well.
We will definitely return to this haven!
I would suggest 24/7 air fresheners along the corridors and public toilets; drinks list/ cocktail menu as we had to ask each time. You must try the bahama mama and nassau royale cocktails.

We got a tour of a rum factory and bought some local bottles to take back all duty free in the capital. Gold and diamond jewellery were tax free and very affordable. The rum cake and fruit cake MUST always remain on the menu. I loved these the best of all puddings! Definitely the place to gain weight!

“Fun in the Sun”

Excellent soft creamy white sand.
Cable beach gets its name from the first telephone cable from the island to Florida.
Wonderful peaceful experience away from the horns of the cruise ships and the other merchant ships..

“Gorgeous beach, No service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

As a guest of the Sheraton, we tried to beach it, but thirst and hunger drove us to the pool. Drink service would have been nice.
