We happened to come across the cathedral, which is down the street from the more visible Pirate Museum. Entrance is free. The stained glass, woodwork, and other art is beautiful. An employee allowed us access to the small garden in the back for photos, also very lovely. There is a great deal of history here; you can see names of church leaders, congregation members, and visitors over many years in various places. It was nice escape from the many souvenir and jewelry shops just a few steps away. If I could plan our day over again, I would be more strategic in selecting specific areas we wished to visit while in Nassau for the day and certainly make this one of the stops.

Christ Church Cathedral, located on George Street, is just a block or two away from the straw market and in a easy location to find.

The church's present building was erected in 1841 but the church is much older than that. The original building was located a block away but burned down in the 1700's.

During the week, the church's doors are open to visitors. I always have admired the beautiful stained glass windows but the Cathedral has such beauty in many other ways. A walk to view the church is well worth the effort.

This was an easy walk from the cruise ship terminal, on the way to The National Gallery of Art, free, and beautiful. We were welcomed inside to view the beautiful stained glass windows. They were comparable to what you find in a Cathedral in Europe. Make sure to read the signs on the wall as you enter. They explain much of the history of the church and the stained glass windows. Great story.

Really nice cathedral with gorgeous wood ceilings. Nice quiet place to visit and be still! In downtown Nassau close to everything. Worth a visit
