The beach was beautiful. The water is turquoise and the beach itself was very clean. There was a guy selling unlimited coco locos for $20. We paid $7 for 1 the day before, so this was a great deal. Locals are constantly trying to sell you stuff on the beach (jet ski rentals, jewelry, hair braids, etc.), but they are very polite and some of them are very funny, so this didn't bother us at all. Since this is a public beach it gets a little crowded, but it's pretty big so we had plenty of space. Definitely one of the most beautiful beaches I have been to.

I visited this beach from a Carnival cruise ship. It was worth the time and cheaper then a cruise sold excursion. Me and three friends took a cab from the port for $4.00 per person. The beach is on paradise island a short walk from Atlantis. Although it was crowed and locals try to sell you everything, I rented a chair for $5.00 (negotiate, they asked for $10.00 at first), purchased a coke and water from a vendor for $5.00, laid out with my iPod and ignored all the other "beach salesman" turned out to be great! The water was clear and warm...sand a bit gritty from all the traffic, but beautiful! The cab back to the ship was $4.00 as well, so in all I spent $28.00 and had a nice beach day before loading back on the ship. More cost effective than the $48.00 cruise excursion!

as long as the weather is good, it is one of the most beautiful beach in the bahamas, the white sand is like a white carpet, and the views with the islands in the background is awesome

Visited during a cruise...the beach was absolutely beautiful, right next to Atlantis resort so we took time to get lost in Atlantis. The beach itself was beautiful but not surprisingly full of vendors trying to sell you everything under the sun. If you were laying out with your eyes closed, they didn't bother you. There is a hut on the beach offering $20 all-you-can-drink alcohol from coconuts - we opted to bring our own alcohol on the beach in plastic flasks. The waves were rough enough to be fun to jump in, but possibly too rough if you are traveling with smaller kids.

The only thing I would add is no bathrooms on the beach... The last two posts from Sabalon and Artlandmusictraeler sum it up pretty well....
