When we arrived after a long flight, they told us we couldn't stay there, because they had overbooked the hotel!! How could a hotel make such a grave mistake?! After they sent us to the other side of the island (without cab fare), we returned the next morning and demanded a room, since they had previously guaranteed a room for us. The location was actually great, and the next few days were truly enjoyable. On about the fifth day, however, someone broke into our room (which did not have a working safe) and stole $1500 in electronics. Hotel management and the Bahamian police were not responsive. I refuse to stay in any Quality Inns because of this experience

We, (my wife & I) checked in for one night (reason unimportant) to the hotel, the staff was nice and curteous. The first thing I noticed was in the elevator, the floor was very dirty, and there was trash. The room was small, but clean. The view was of a wall and a very slight view of the beach. The pool area was small. There was a stairwell leading from the open hallway to the ground floor. There was partially eaten food, empty beer bottles and other trash on the stairwell. The small dining area never seemed to be open, nor was it very clean. Ther baggage storage area was a complete mess (we arrived prior to regular check in which was @ 3p.m.). The website claims to have a beautiful beach, when in truth, the beach was cluttered with trash, there was broken glass strewn about, and it was rocky and littered with dead coral. When we went to shower after daring to visit the beach, there was no hot water. The staff was not knowledgeable as to where the bus to take us to the airport would arrive (front or back entrance). The hotel is on Bay St. which is the major road through Nassau and all night there are cars honking their horns and the sounds of traffic. In all I was highly disappointed in the state of the hotel. If you're looking for a nice hotel with good amenities forget this place. If you're looking for an affordable place to spend the night between excursions to downtown (10 minute walk), the various water activities that the bahamas have to offer, or the nightlife then this is the place for you. I can guarantee that I will not be staying here again.

OK, so it's cheap relative to other hotels in the area, and the room was clean... but this place needs some urgent refurbishment and the procurement of some new bed linen - the walls, carpet and bathroom are skanky and the bed sheets were so old they were paper thin and had holes worn in them.
The lift was "out of order" throughout my stay, and despite being told at check-in that it would be fixed the following morning, this didn't happen. At check-out I was told "you should never have been told the lift would be fixed, we have known all along that it won't be fixed 'til Wednesday..." No lift for a 6 storey hotel is something of a pain, blatant lying by check-in staff doesn't help.
The musty smell other reviews have mentioned was certainly a feature of my room, but was even worse in the dank restaurant... a quick browse of the menu gave me enough time to realise I'd be much better off eating elsewhere.
If you need a cheap room, and are willing to put up with the low quality provided by this establishment, then go for it, but expect to get what you pay for.
There's another relatively cheap, but much nicer hotel "El Greco" a block away, closer to the expensive but very nice British Colonial Hilton. "El Greco" also has an excellent, tho' pricey Italian restaurant attached.
