Very impressive ruins. But, when we went into the gift shop to buy or find a map on the grounds, a lady asked it we had any questions. I asked one and was told that I had to pay and take a tour to get the answer. We left!

The park was not open on a Sunday and I have never seen a guided tour in operation. Not sure how they operate. It's a way out of town and though a beautiful spot takes a while to get there.

We were interested in getting away from the tourist traps around our hotel on Cable Beach, so we rented a car from Budget for $91 for the day and drove to Cliften Heritage National Land and Sea Park. We paid the $2 per person entrance fee and walked along the small path past former slave dwellings and other ruins. There were interesting for their historical significance, but the highlight of our trip was walking slightly further north along the water to some really really pristine and empty beaches.

The history is kind of interesting, but the set up is not very good for seeing it all. It is a far trip from everything to get there too.
