Were booked in an oceanfront conceirge level room #316. Could see a portion of the water if we peered around the large palm tree in front of the window. The rooms are fine, nothing spectacular. Only stayed in the room one night because the a/c didn't work. Were finally moved to room #410, which was slightly larger. The mattresses in both rooms (and apparently all the rooms because we heard several other people complaining) were the hardest, most uncomfortable mattresses on which we have ever attempted to sleep (none of the beds have boxsprings, by the way, only mattresses with fabric covered boards in place of the boxsprings). We actually woke up sore in the mornings.
The service is HORRENDOUS. We live in New Orleans so perhaps we are slightly spoiled as to the way a 5 star resort is supposed to operate but good gracious it was bad. The restaurants served (and I use that term loosely since nobody seemed in any rush to actually serve anything) food that was adequate for sustenance and that was it. We didn't eat in Baccarat until the last morning because we were unable to get reservations and that ended up being the best thing that could have happened to us because we ate at Dune at the One and Only Ocean Club on Paradise Island and Graycliff in the heart of Nassau. Super expensive but with sublime service and excellent food.
The night time activities were cheesy and not entertaining at all. We had much more fun just wandering around Atlantis after our dinner at Dune. The seating areas with the fire pits along the beachfront were nice though.
The island was very pretty and relaxing. Plus, it didn't appear that the Butlers were able to reserve every good spot out on the island like they do around the pool. Don't even try to find a chair around the pool or by the beach in front of the hotel because they are all reserved every morning.
We have never stayed at an all-inclusive before (and probably won't again). Hearing the complaints of those around us (and there were many) from other couples who have stayed at all-inclusives, this doesn't appear to be on many lists for a return visit.

Weather was absolutely beautiful during our stay. We have stayed at another Sandals resort this year and this one in the Bahamas is 5+++ stars. Staff are great, hospitable, courteous and friendly. Never had any bad experience at any of the restaurants and ate at all of them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Resort was clean, continually being updated and a superb location for a quiet getaway, wedding or party with old and new friends. Most of the entertainment was excellent with a couple of exceptions like The Mentalist or the Comedians but all else was very entertaining. For movie nights they need to add popcorn, pop and pretzels. Would not hestitate to return anytime well worth it. Read comments on sand fleas and other negativisms but cannot confirm any of what I had read. Remember when you go to the Bahamas or any other island you are there to relax, be pampered and take it easy. Forget about the hustle and bustle. One thing I would like to see is bar service around the pool. Well worth the time and check out Nassau itself if you need to go shopping downtown.

yes it's beautiful, yes the food is great, yes it's relaxing and wonderful. but the sandals staff there is what has made us life long customers of all sandals resorts. the bahamians are very friendly, charismatic, and know how to have a great time. i couldn't believe how great they all were!
also, this resort isn't too far from the U.S. so the trip there may not be as long. i highly recommend visiting this sandals resort!
