My wife and I and another couple just returned from spending five wonderful days at the Royal Bahamian Resort and Spa. All four of us did not want to come home as the resort exceeded our expectations and we had a truly wonderful vacation. The four of us travel together quite a bit, and quite frankly, we are used to enjoying top quality and the Royal Bahamian did not disappoint us at all. The staff at this resort are probably the friendliest and most courteous that we have encountered anywhere. Each employee went out of their way to be helpful and pleasant. We visited the famous Atlantis on Paradise Island during one morning, and frankly, we could not wait to get out of there and get back to our really laid back Royal Bahamian. The couples only policy is really great at the Royal Bahamian, while the big box hotel on Paradise Island was overrun with noisy and unruly kids. Overall the food was really great with tremendous variety. At the variety of bars available, the bartenders would make any drink one wanted as well as serve the guest any brand of booze that was available; at no time did a bartender try to give us any cheap stuff. The two ladies in our group are all experienced spa visitors and both commented that the spa here is definately one of the better ones. Generally, our visit to the Royal Bahamian was terrific and we would suggest it for anyone. It certainly gets a big 9 on the 10 scale.

We recently came back from the sandals royal bahamiam, and loved it!!!!! I am a travel agent in the uk and we got upgraded to the villas in a suite conceirge room as soon as we arrived. the villa was lovely, we had a king size bed and a seperate room with a mini-bar that was stocked daily, even if we had a sip of our wine or a shot of the vodka or rum they would replace it the next day with a full bottle!! we were on the ground floor and had a lovly terrace that led onto the gient ches board which we had lots of fum with. We are a young couple and were quite worried that it was for older couples as we found in sandals anitiua, but wasnt the case. we found the staff to be very helpful and friendly and couldnt do enough for you. I would say that if your looking to get married then to do it on the off shore island as people were playing volly ball when couples were trying to get married and all they were bothered about was their match and didnt have much respect for the ceromony!! The food was brilliant and had a wide range of different tastes, sandals go out of their way to make it look very presentable and had a lot of theme nights to suit everyone. We loved the english pub, and was very much like home very traditional and the food was very english!!! A lot of people moan about the seagulls on this site, but it was only because people would leave their food out, and it's not sandals fault that there are seagullls flying about.I must admit the pool was freezing but it was quite nice to jump into on hot day!!So overall as a travel agent i would recommend the sandals royal bahamian to anyone no matter what age. I would definately go back and will stay for longer next time, i didnt want to come home!!!

Well, the suspense is over.....SRB is the place to go. After reading all of the reviews on the resort before we set off for our Honeymoon, we were a little afraid at what we saw. Now having returned from this very nice resort, I am happy we chose SRB. The only negative comment I had the whole time we were there was Kimonos. ALthough it was a great atmosphere the food was not up to par. WE were pleased about all of the food until the fish came to my plate. Maybe it was just a bad night but the fish was bad. All in all the experience was great. And those of you who say there are no premium liquors, What in the world do you want...100 year old cognac. Here is a list of some of the top shelfs.
Stoli, absolut, Crown Royal, Chivas Regal, the best rum for Pina Coladas, malibu, coors light, but I recommend the Kalik gold, great beer. Well if you read these reviews, just lok at the good ones because they are the reviews that count. Enjoy and relax.

The property and amenities are wonderful. The service was very good at all levels, e.g. check-in, restaurants, room service, and activities. Many reviews refer to mediocre services and complaints about petty details. I must disagree. Every staff member was graciously accommodating with virtually no exceptionsRooms Be careful of the room category that you choose if you have your heart set on an oceanview. We didn't mind the 'partial ocean view' which you could really only see if you craned your neck over the balcony. Our room faced a property that was next door to SRB. Our room category was Manor Luxury Oceanview Concierge Room. Bottom line, if you want to be guaranteed to see the ocean from their room, you must reserve something in the ocean front category. Note that the villas will not have an oceanview as they face gardens. However, I expect they will have more amenities. As for the amenities, our room category included: Amenities kit with aloe vera lotion, shampoo, bath/shower gel, aloe vera gel a mini-bar that was replenished daily concierge service ** continental breakfast via room service if desired ** Because our luggage was delayed with Bahamasair, we had several concierges following up with the airline for us. Each was meticulous about contacting the airline periodically and passing the information on to the next agent on duty. We finally got our luggage early Monday morning after arriving late Saturday night. They also took care of re-confirming our flight. At least it wasn't cancelled but it was operating about 2 hours behind schedule! Dining There are indeed 8 restaurants but they are not all fine-dining options. There are two fine-dining restaurants, which are the Crystal Room, and Baccarat. Shirts with collars and long pants are required for the gentlemen, and reservations are required. Make your dinner reservations as soon as possible upon arrival. They are both good, but I liked the Crystal Room better. Baccarat is a bit claustrophobic. Both restaurants are in the same building and it seems that the Crystal Room takes up three fourths of it and Baccarat occupies a small space that seems almost like a large hallway. We did not try Kimonos, the Japanese restaurant, but heard from other guests that it was good.Spices serves a nice breakfast and lunch buffet with a great variety, including some made-to-order items for both meals. We didn't try it for dinner. The cuisine is continental with some Caribbean specialties.Casanova's also has a good breakfast and lunch buffet with an Italian accent. They also offer made-to-order items in addition to the buffet. We didn't try dinner there either but heard it was quite good. The food at the English pub, the beachside café, and the café at the private island is very basic fast-food type fare. Since so many guests were 20-something and 30-something, the different options were appropriately planned to please every pallet. The second night there we enjoyed a fabulous buffet on the beach. It was after a manager's cocktail reception that was also very nice, introducing everyone to the management staff, and playing a few games. We had the pleasure of chatting with the general manager and the executive chef who were both multi-lingual, and of course, charming.ActivitiesFor those who like to lounge, there are numerous options to do just that. There are two large pools with swim-up bars located in the common areas. Also, back by the private villas, there are some smaller pools that any guests can use. The pools there are much smaller and there are no swim-up bars there. Other lounging options include the beach at the property, which is a bit disappointing as it is quite small, or the beach at the private island, which is at least twice the size of the one at the property and is very nice.We did the snorkeling twice, and enjoyed it. They also have scuba diving and wind sailing, but we didn't get a chance to try those. Deep-sea fishing and para-sailing are available from outside vendors at an additional charge. We went to a couple of the events at the theater. The first one we saw was the Ooh-La-La French Revue, which was very good. The second was a newlyweds game show which was so-so.We took advantage of the water aerobics class called Aquasize and found it thoroughly enjoyable. Michelangelo was a very lively instructor with a good sense of humor. We did two sessions which was enough to earn our leather sandals souvenir necklaces. Some other activities that were going on was cigar-rolling and disco dancing. There is a piano bar as well as karaoke. All in all, for service, food, activities and the room accomodation, I couldn't have asked for more. Just remember, as reiterated in numerous other reviews, get something in the 'oceanfront' category if you want to be guarenteed a great view and don't forget to do all your reservations for the fancy restaurants (Baccarat and Crystal Room) when you arrive. Also, bringing your bathing suit and essentials in a carry-on is a good idea too, as getting them when you are stuck without your bags is no bargain. We'd go back in a heartbeat without a second thought!

Rooms: Ok, Get a room in the manor house if you can. It is a nicer place. Do not get a bungalow. They did not look nice at all. Food: Awesome. Plenty. Make reservation at the nice restaurants once you get there or you will not get to eat in them. Drinks are week but ask them to make them stronger and they will. Learn the hours of the restaurants and you will not go hungry. Take some food to your room so you do not have to go back and forth. Pools: We went in september and they will nice and warm because it was about 80's all day long. Activites: Scuba diving with sharks was awesome. I can't say more. Do it if you can.
Overall I would recommend this place but do not concentrate on getting a great room because it does not seem worth it. Everyones rooms looked the same to me.
