Food was excellent as it always has been for many years. Service was poor this last trip, maybe just a fluke, will be back in May 2019 for another try. To long between courses, food not hot enough, mixed up the order a little.

Beautiful staff - could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The 20 rooms are mainly decorated Art Deco and quite funky - we like that sort of thing.
The grounds definitely are showing their age. Light fixtures hanging loose, tiling in desperate need of grouting - just a feeling of overgrown despair. This is not a place for those with mobility issues - lots of stairs.
The pools are however beautiful. The only problem as a guest is that you feel slightly like a zoo animal with a constant stream of tourists being guided through the grounds,
The hotel which has a long and storied history, is a point of interest in itself with one of the great wine cellars of the world. Located adjacent to Government House and beside the Art Gallery ( review to follow separately - a must see for those interested in some extremely talented local artists) is in downtown Nassau within walking distance of several interesting restaurants and of course the shops of Bay St. with it’s famous Straw Market. Unfortunately the port has become a centre for the cruise ship, industry with up to six cruise ships in port at any one time. We planned our trips downtown around the arrivals and departures to avoid the crowds.
If you want something different while visiting the Bahamas. Give it a try. - not cheap, but worth the experience.

Had a wonderful tour of the Chocolate Factory, Cigar Workshop, Bahama Museum, and Graycliff hotel. Our guide Camille was wonderful and very knowledgeable. Worth the visit when you’re in Nassau!!! Tasty samples, too!

This is a very serene and relaxing place to visit for a nice meal and lay by their swimming pool. They also have a little factory where they have skilled workers making cigars as well as chocolates. You can visit this place as recreation or even as an expedition so to say.

Room tip: This location does not offer rooms to stay. It is a huge property but it only offers meals and you can spend a day by their pool.

We only stayed one night on a layover on our way home from the family islands, but it was great. The service was excellent, the beds where very comfortable, and the feel of the place is very special. The building is not new and shiny, but it is nice and has a quality comfortable feel. We stayed in the "Tile" room but most places would have called suite. A large sitting room, a bedroom, a bath, and a toilet room. Nice rooms in Nassau are expensive, at least here I felt like I got my moneys worth. There are also lots of activities here, I just did not have enough time to enjoy them. I hope to return some time for a longer stay.
