The Water Tower is at the top of the Queen's Staircase. I just returned and it was closed for renovations. Not sure when it is reopening. It isn't very tall, but they say it is the tallest point on the island. I'm sure it is a great view from the top so if it is open when you go there, and want to see a panoramic view of the island, considering going to the top.

Next to the tower is Fort Fincastle. It is a good opportunity to see a few of the sites all at once.

See reviews about the staircase and fort.

You'll see the tower when you go to the Queen's Staircase and Fort Fincastle. It's just a usual tower,

On our honeymoon last Nov, my husband and I walked around Nassau, seeing all the sights. We went over to the areas where Fort Fincastle, the Queen's Staircase and the Water Tower are. We went to look at the fort first. We then went over to the Water Tower an =d finished at the Staircase. The Water Tower is a large white structure. It had originally been built as a water-supply reservoir in 1928. It is the highest point on the island at 126 feet tall. It was closed for renovations and we weren't allowed to go into it, but it had been opened before as we had read about it in our travel book. It said in there that you could either take a small rickety elevator or a long and winding staircase (about 300 steps) to the top of the tower. The top is suppose to offer one of the finest views on the island. To the North you could see the cruise ship dock, to the South is the capital city of Nassau, to the East lies Paradise Island, and to the West is Cable Beach with all the fancy-colored resort hotels. We would have liked to have been able to go up and see the view but it was good enough to just say that we had seen the Tower itself since would probably be our only trip to the islands.

This tower is the highest point in Nassau, 126 feet tall.

We just looked at it from Fort Fincastle because it looked dirty.

But be sure to check out the booths near the base.

I think it's closed (but not barred) , and the birds have moved in. The views from above were certainly lovely, but getting up and down quite gross! We went up anyway despite the bird poop everywhere. It was slightly scary going up the bird poop infested, dark stairs to the top. There were about 300 steps.

There were a few "guides" there who wanted to offer us information. We didn't seek their guidances, but we tipped them for the information about the Queen's Staircase because I didn't know how to get rid of him.
