My family and I spent three nights in the Breezes Resort. Our first scheduled flight was cancelled due to Nassau airport's precautionary Hurricane Sandy shutdown on October 25th. Fortunately, we were able to rebook and extend our flight the next day, as well as extend our stay at Breezes.

Breezes is quite an experience, and as my first time enjoying an all-inclusive resort, I found it to be a great value. Located right in front of a magnificently blue ocean, Breezes includes a buffet-style dining area that stays open for most of the day and into the night. During our stay, they served authentic island foods such as conch, rice, beans, grilled chicken and even Bahamian style French toast! Everything is made that day and served fresh and hot around the clock. Not to mention the two strawberry daiquiri and pina colada machines plus three fully serviced bars.

The servers- along with everyone else on the island (whether you buy from their shops or not) - were extremely kind and approachable. They had a genuine concern for your satisfaction- no sappiness whatsoever. When the dining hall is closed, the burger grill is open just outside near the pool. There, they serve fresh burgers, fries, jerk chicken, hotdogs, crab sandwiches, conch fritters, etc… straight out of the fryer. Within a couple of steps, you can enjoy them as you recline on the beach chairs onlooking the piercing blue water.

The rooms were a decent size, given the double beds we received. The bathrooms are beautifully designed as well- with a spacy shower and designer sinks.

Bahamas’ busses stop near the resort about every 15 minutes. If you take the 10 bus, you can go downtown for $1.25 each way. (Upon arrival, a bus transported us to and from the airport as well.) Also, if you’re staying at Breezes, don’t forget to check out the newly renovated shops located near the resort. There you can find little souvenir shops that are similar to the ones downtown. And if for some reason you missed a chance to score a post card, mug, or t-shirt, the resort’s gift shop is the most reasonably priced one I’ve seen yet! The same mugs selling downtown for 5+ are a firm $3 there. Channel 11 is Nassau's local channel.

Overall, I really had a great time at Breezes. With the outgoing helpful staff, lively night shows, and amazing view, I would definitely recommend this to someone else. (Be sure to ask when the “Limbo King” will be visiting, if you want to see something great.) Our 3 night stay allowed us to view the small island, talk with natives, and enjoy the amenities without the experience getting stale. It really doesn’t take that long to tour Nassau.

Room Tip: Certain rooms face the beach, and some don't. Be sure to ask or request either if you want to enjoy the view 24/7.

Firstly let me tell you that in recent years we have stayed before at Breezes in Cuba & Breezes in Brazil.
Even so before we went we were alarmed when reading some of the negative comments.
Our B.A direct flights were excellent, good food (for airline food) and plenty of drinks.
We had paid the extra and upgraded to an ocean view room and prior to leaving we had emailed the hotel and requested a ground floor room. It took approximately 30 minutes from collecting our luggage at the airport to being allocated the room we requested (room 177).
Yes the rooms are basic, but we found the huge bed very comfortable, the shower had lashings of hot water, the view was to die for and it was all spotlessly clean.
There is a big new hotel complex being built on the west side of Breezes, so request an ocean or pool view room and you will not see or hear any of the building works.
We found the staff to be helpful, happy, smiling and utterly charming in fact we would like to say a big thank you to Andrea in reception, Angela & Sony at the beach bar, Micheal, Alex & Kyle at the terrace bar and finally Lauren from housekeeping. We have singled out these people for a special mention but everybody at the hotel was marvellous especially when hurricane Sandy put in an appearance.
We felt very safe there even when the hurricane was raging around us, the staff were very calm and professional and when the hurricane was over the massive clean up of the devastation was done in double quick time so that it did not affect our holiday more than was necessary.
The entertainment was good, the two male and the female vocalist were excellent.
We thought all the bar service and drinks were good, they just need a cocktail list that's all.
We enjoyed the food at both of the a la carte resturants, we recommend the crab cakes and the salmon at the Garden of Eden and the shrimp and steak at Martinos.
Possibly the only minor complaints we have is that the food could be a little hotter in the buffet resturant and there were a few too many noisy stag and hen parties for my liking but its a big resort and there are plenty of quiet places to retreat to.
So please if you are going or thinking of going to Breezes, go with an open mind. No it's not the Atlantis or Sandals but then you won't of paid Atlantis or Sandals prices!!!!!

Breezes was very disappointing for the price; for an additional $300, we could have stayed in deluxe accommodations at the Sandles just down the street and not have to deal with this run-down, stinky hotel. There was not comfortable place to sit, unless you include the wonderful plastic covered loveseats which there was only 5 of (and were always full), or the very uncomfortable chairs, and during the hurricane there were lots of people that stayed in hotel lobby and limited places to hang out.

The beds were very hard and uncomfortable, no comfortable chairs in the rooms, we moved to a difference room because the air conditioner decided to leak in the middle of the nite causing water damage in the bathroom, this turned out to be a recurring problem because the room we moved to had the same problem.

The al-a-carte restaurants are located in the basement, which is dark, dingy and musty, the service in the restaurant was wonderful and the food was average.

They water down the booze so bad - I managed to drink margaritas all day long without feeling any effects.

The buffet was OK - the bonus to this place is the people, they were absolutely awesome.

Dear Guest,
We are truly sorry to note that you did not enjoy certain aspects of your vacation. We pride ourselves on providing a quality vacation and apologize for any challenges. We can advise
that our central lobby has numerous chairs for sitting and we are able to comfortably
sit many guests. The fact that a comparison has been made with another property
suggests that Breezes Bahamas was not your first choice. It would have been of immense
benefit if the concerns as noted were brought to our attention whilst in resort.
Having been advised we would have effected all possible measures to right the concerns
mentioned.
Again,thank you for the feedback.
Regards,
Jackson Weech

We had a great trip. The room was comfortable. Our shower leaked getting the floor wet each time. Staff did try and fix the problem but was unsuccessful. We were offered to change our room, but because we chose not to. Staff cleaned the floor each time very promptly. Staff was wonderful everywhere. Marvin was one of the entertainers and very helpful and friendly to our group. Food was good.

Overall for the price, Breezes was disappointing due to the quality of the hotel. The rooms are average and smell very musty the lower your floor. We had some difficulty getting the room we had reserved with two double beds so I saw other rooms before we made it to our room on the 8th floor. There is a very large construction site next door to Breezes so beware of that for quality of views. The gym was a BIG disappointment with minimal cardio equipment and half of it was broken. The food was consistently good and if you are a drinker, you won't have any problem getting your fill. I saw many drunk people who should have scaled back a bit but when the alcohol is included, it's expected especially in an adult only resort. I will personally avoid this combination in my future travels.
The one positive about Breezes is the people who work there--they are all very kind, helpful and do all they can to make your stay pleasant. The only exception was housekeeping who took a very long time to clean rooms and did not like it when you showed up at your room and they were still working (I'm talking in the mid to late afternoon). That could be improved.
I think I have been spoiled by all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and the newness of those resorts. I personally believe the best choice for Nassau is not Breezes but any way you look at it, you will pay much more to travel to Nassau than Mexico.

Room Tip: Stay away from lower floor rooms due to musty smells.
