My wife saw this in a brochure she picked up when we arrived at Nassau. I love history so she suggested we visit. I was a little hesitant but I have a masters in Public History so visiting a historic home in Nassau intrigued me. It is a beautiful little house, pink in color, two stories, and a nice little balcony that gives the house its name. When we asked about the price we were told no charge only a donation if we wished. The gentleman giving the tour was very nice and very knowledgeable. The house is furnished as it would have been in the mid twentieth century. I would have liked to have seen it restored to its 18th century appearance inside but I understood. It is a nice short tour and the tour guide answered all of our questions. The stairway is worth the visit, just ask where it came from. After we got back onto our ship I told my wife that Balcony House was my favorite part of our visit to Nassau.
