Last October 2012, my family and I visited Nassau on a Carnival Cruise. I could not wait to see the Queens Staircase. We entered the beautiful lush garden area and were approached by a guy that stopped us and started telling us about the garden area and the staircase. He completed his speech telling us we now owed him a tip. We were shocked and a little afraid too. We paid him but will never return. He was frightening.

There is a bathroom facility, but sitting inside of the facility is a women who told us in order to use the facilities, we had to pay her a tip because she keeps the bathroom clean.

Good place to go to learn about the country and the history. The staircase and waterfall were lovely and I was glad I got an opportunity to visit. We found the staircase by accident after trying to escape the shopping. It was good to see some real history and the walk to the top to the fort was nice.

The hike isn't that bad, and the stairs themselves are beautiful. Definitely worth it for the walk, and the visit to Fort Fincastle next door (although it's so tiny it must violate some international standard for use of the word Fort - it's really little more than an artillery battery). There are a ton of hawker stands up top next to the fort, which you may want to avoid. But the view up top is worth it.

The staircase was very beautiful. Lots of history in this staircase. We also visited the Fort Fincastle. The view was amazing.
