There are high-end shops and touristy kitchy shops, whatever you are looking for as well as restaurants - we stopped in at Jimmy's for some Conch...it was delish! You can spend many hours just wandering around visiting all the shops. Have fun but don't forget to try some of the local rum and food!

Becareful if you have not ever been to the Bahamas, they will come out of every corner to braid your hair or give you a taxi ride. They are not cheap.

Nice to have a wander around and find a nice eatery; the big-brand stores are here but have other outlets inside the Atlantis resort shopping areas; the Straw Market in historic (although a replacement, as the original burned down) - however the content is the same stuff that can be found at any of the other tourist stalls everywhere (ferry terminal, Cable beach etc) and not always local - check for "made in China" labels!

This street is full of shops for souvenirs & straw market on one side, and the other side is flooded with Jewelry Watch & high-end shops. This street has also some very good restaurants lined up...so people who do not wish to tour the city or go to Atlantis, can easily spend 3-4 hours doing shopping and eating out...

Bay Street ( the main shopping area of town) is right next to the pier where the cruise ships are docked. Very easy to walk there, however, don't go early- as stores don't open until 9 or 10 a.m. There are lots of jewelry stores, lots of banks, and lots of stores selling everything you can think of that has the words "Nassau" or "Bahamas". At the end of the street is the famous Straw Market, with even more stuff for tourists!
