“Great seafood with ultra casual Bahamian atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2010

If you are looking for a genuine Bahamian experience, "O Andros" in Arawak Cay is the place to go. The seafood is fantastic: my wife had the fried lobster "snack" ( $18.00) really too much for one person to eat (lobster, fries, and plantains); and I had the fried snapper "snack" (a whole fish fried to perfection with sides) ($8.00).

The restaurant is on the small side with about 10 tables inside (a/c) and a few outside. Service is classic Bahamian- slow but kind and the food is well worth the wait. If you have an hour or so to kill in Nassau, it is worth the trip. Don't go if you are in a rush- enjoy!

Directions: From downtown, take a cab or the No. 10 Jittney ($1.25 per person 7/2010) to Arawak Cay. It is about a 5 - 7 min ride. There are a dozen or so small "restaurants" and bars all in the same area. (some are little more than shacks).

If you are looking for a fancy five-star dinning experience- table clothes and super attentive service, this would not be the place for you. Of course, if that is what you are looking for, Nassau is likely not where you would look.

An honorable mention to the Guinness Stout Foreign Extra at (+/-$2.00)- a stronger sweeter version of the Guinness we have in the US.

“Best of Fish Fry at Arawak Cay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2010

Oh Andros was recommended to us by several locals we met after we'd tried another popular Fish Fry restaurant and found it to be pretty awful. Everything about Oh Andros was better - better food, portion-size, service and prices! Now keep in mind, the service was still VERY slow, but at least the staff was pleasant and it was far better/faster than the other Fish Fry place we tried. There are plenty of local dishes on the menu, but Oh Andros carries a good number of more american-style food as well. The steak was well-seasoned and tender. The lobster alfredo actually had more lobster than fettucini! And the conch salad was raved about by all. The best part was that we were able to feed a party of 5 for under $80 - including a round of beer! That's unheard of in Nassau, even for casual dining. If you plan to go to Fish Fry, Oh, Andros is definitely the place to try.

“good fish, slow inattentive service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2010

Fish was tasty, and inexpensive. Great $3 local beer. Had to ask for drinks, each time. Slow service, but at these prices, that's probably how it is gonna be.
