This is one of the many spots in the Fish Fry. It has large servings of fresh food. As you wait for your food. You will notice a steady stream of locals waiting for their carry out orders. Always a good sign when traveling. The lobster is great. Might want to conKaiser splitting a plate with your companion or not. A whole lot of food for the money. Just remember thus is the Bahamas. After you finish go down the road to have a daquri at Twin Brothers.

We took a cab to the fish fry strip. The cab driver dropped us a few doors down from Andros where a lady was waiting to seat us at her restaurant. I think the cab driver gets kick backs from them. Anyway, I made sure to get our group into Andros because of the reviews here. It was well worth it.

Andros was crowded and the wait was a bit long but SO worth it! Tons of locals and a crowd is a good sign to me. Get the Fish under the heading "Snack". Don't be fooled by the term. This is a ton of food. Others in my group got the fish dinner which was a whole fish that was fried and overcooked thus dry. Mine was an incredibly delicious tender battered filet. When ordering state that you want a boneless battered filet just to be sure.

My partner had the lobster which was phenomenal. After speaking with another cab driver I wished I had tried the macaroni and cheese. He said it was absolutely amazing. The cost was $93 for four of us with drinks and shared conch fritters to start. Our bill at The Poop Deck was $266 for four of us with drinks and three appies to share instead of one.

Why is the fish fry so good? According to one of our cab drivers the Bahamas is comprised of over 700 islands. Some are small and have nothing for the locals to do but cook and perfect their recipes. He said they come to Nassau, open a fish fry, and clean house.

Awesome food. Best prices but it's the Bahamas so it's pricey figure $30/person with drinks. They get fresh fish and conch EVERY day. They sell out of potato salad so if you like it go early

The fish fry is the name given a number of restaurants strung along a dirt parking lot in Nassau all of which serve the same type of local food. However there is a difference in quality. Before choosing andros I asked a number of locals which they preferred and this was the name that came up the most often. The restaurant was packed with Bahamians a sure indication I wasn't misled. The food was great both the mains and the sides. Both quality and quantity were excellent. The atmosphere is fun and everyone was there to have a good time. The service was great and the servers work extraordinarily hard. We would return in a heartbeat for excellent comfort food.

We went there on the advice of a taxi driver and it was great! It was in the Fish Fry which is a long strip of fish shacks in Nassau. It's not fancy smancy just simple but what do you need when it's all about the Bahamian relaxed atmosphere and local food here. The food is amazing-grouper, rock shrimp, Bahamian lobster, local rice and peas, the mac and cheese, etc.. You get a ton, enough to take home and and eat later. Locals mix with tourists here and it makes it fun. Drinks are good, too, especially the rum punch!
