We popped in just before heading to the airport and wish we had more time to have a bigger meal or come back for dinner, which we will do next time we're back in the Bahamas. The service was fantastic, and staff were very helpful and warm. Good selection of drinks too! Definitely head there if you're craving something fresh and tasty.

The spot may be great but this restaurant is dishonest in its practices. The items on the menu is not what they serve. The Lamb Gyros does not contain lamb but vegetable & soy. I am a seasoned lamb eater and have grown up preparing it. When I confronted them they could not look me in the eye. I am an employee on a Cruise Ship and the consensus among fellow employees who frequent this port is to avoid this place as it is know for ripping people off.

Sorry about your unfortunate experience at our restaurant. We appreciate your business. Crew members that work on the cruise ships counts as 25% of our clientele. We give our best in food quality and service to all of our patrons. There is always room for improvement. We have discussed the situation with the server and owner but realized we should have handled the situation in a more professional manner. The gyros that you had was a Greek gyros. It is a blend of lamb, herbs and spices. This is our top selling item on our menu. Our protocol is if you do not like a dish that we prepare, we can gladly change it for you, ASAP. Try our pork, chicken, veggie, falafel, shrimp or grouper gyro next time. Again, we are sorry for your experience and please hope that you will return again.

Our friends love this place. We joined them for lunch. Not cheap. $150.00 for five small dishes.
I complained to my friend that my husband's salad had only one olive. She asked the waiter to bring more olives. He brought three olives. The three olives were on the bill $1.50. Come on, 50 cents for an olive. The spinach pie we were served was dry and over cooked. It must have been recycled from the previous day. The service was good, but they could do without that old man pestering the customers. They also fail to advise you that a service charge has been added to your bill. All the other restaurants we dined at either let you know on the menu or the server let you know when they presented the check. Athena does neither. On my next visit to Nassau I will pass on Athena.

All our food (meals, deserts and greek coffee) was excellent as was the service. We were getting ready to catch a flight and they made sure that our order and food was handled quickly and professionally. Wish I could have eaten here again.

Athena Cafe is a great place to stop for lunch to beat the heat and grab a delicious Greek meal. It was hard to choose from the menu, but the hummus was delicious. I just wish it had come with more bread. The Greek salad was the perfect size for lunch. The service was very friendly.
