“A Great Lunch Find for Tired Tourists”
Reviewed February 18, 2012

An oasis in an overall commercial tourist area! Delicious and extremely fresh food. Tzsatsiki that is to die for and a new take on tartar sauce (lemon and dill) that you want to eat with a spoon! Definately get the grouper bites. And don't miss the French fries - real potato wedges deliciously lighted seasoned. Watch what the locals there are eating - it is always one of the fresh catches of the day. All the usual Greek standards are there and they are delicious. Even the gyro was super! There was not one crumb left on our six plates...

Decor is from 1979 but it actually works. George has a real gem of a restaurant here!!!

My husband and I tried the gyro, and it was delicious. Very nice wait staff and great owners. We had a great view from the outdoor seating.

“Really Authentic Greco/Bahamian Food”
Reviewed February 1, 2012

There are several Greek Bahamian restaurants in Nassau but, in my opinion, this is the best. I had the Calamari with a side order of Humus - the calamari was excellent, really nice and tender and the humus was the best I have ever had - anywhere. One of my friends had the fish fingers and was equally happy. Can't remember everything everyone had but we were all delighted. You can dine inside in air conditioning, or outside where you can watch the hustle and bustle of Bay Street below you. The place is popular, so it's busy, but our waitress, Anna Marie, got the orders right, had a wonderful smile, looked great, and deserved the big tip she got. The bill was reasonable, by Bahamian standards. If you like Mediterranean food, I strongly recommend the Athena Cafe.
