Nice place with tons of fun rides and slides. But hotel guests - who pay $700 a night for a room - only get to use the rides early in the morning or late in the afternoon when the flocks of cruise ship passengers are gone. Atlantis is greedy for more money and sells TONS of day passes to passengers who pour in in droves. Lines go from reasonable to insane. The lifeguards are absolutely miserable and nasty people who must just hate their jobs. They take it out on hotel guests. My advice - not worth it
My son and I had a BLAST at the many Aquaventure slides, lazy river, rapid river, pools, and beaches. This was our second year in a row and we already cannot wait to make a return trip next year! Tip: The resort advertised the low peak hours were 10:00 AM when the park first opens and after 4:00 PM once the cruise crowds leave the resort (the park closes at 7:00 PM).
During our recent stay in Nassau (not at Atlantis) we decided to hit up Aquaventure for a fun day with our girls (ages 15 and 13). While we did have an enjoyable time, it unfortunately wasn't worth the high price we paid ($703 for four adult tickets). The park is getting a little aged, there weren't enough rides, and the aquarium was a disappointment (smaller than expected and only took 15-20 minutes to walk through). If I go to the Bahamas again I will skip Aquaventure and allocate the funds to a different outdoor excursion.
Okay, you are at the Atlantis so one must define pricey. The property is amazing, the attractions top notch but for what you get to do, the price seems a bit high. The pools are extremely clean and water clear. The slides are short but extremely fun to go down.
Do your homework and inquire if there are days where cruise ships will not be in. When one, or in some cases, several ships are in port, the Atlantis is a huge excursion choice and what seems like thousands of extra people can fill this location.
Besides the slides, I recommend the rapid river ride (like a lazy river which they also have) as it has some additional current / rapids which made it fun to do.
We got there at open, stayed until close and loved every minute. We bought the package with lunch and transportation to/from Melia hotel which costs $192 per person. Since we stayed until close we had to pay for a taxi back to the hotel which was $32. Our original transfer left at 4:30.
There was plenty of chairs, friendly staff and tons to see. Be sure to walk around all the Atlantis beaches and go under the aquarium. There is tons to explore.
We were told the food was extremely expensive so we packed a bunch of snack but didn’t need them. First, our package came with a filling lunch and 2nd, the food/drinks are not that pricey. A burger was $8-10, drinks $3.50, beer $8. This is about the same prices as our water park at home in Colorado.
I loved Atlantis. It’s worth the cost!!! It’s beautiful!!!
Recently visited Atlantis Resort! Have been there many times but this time was just to go to water park! Very expensive and Honestly not worth the $ anymore! The hotel is becoming very dated and in dire need of a face lift! Half the marine life has either died or been taken out(lets hope so anyways!)
