“Hands free”
Reviewed June 9, 2014

We usually hit a different beach everyday and I thought for once it would be nice not to haul chairs, floats, snorkel gear etc. so we did the day pass and it was very nice not to lug a bunch of stuff at least for one day. Mike, a great guy and very friendly started us with our chairs. Then he brought us our floats. Later he brought us a kayak and showed us how to use it. Next we ordered lunch for us from Caneel. He pretty much took care of everything. I would definitely do the day pass again.

“Take a Hike!”
Reviewed June 5, 2014

When you arrive on St. John from the ferry, walk over to the National Park office building and pick up some useful information and cold bottle of water. Just outside of the office, you will find the trail head for the short hike to Honeymoon Beach. It's about 1.1 miles and a fairly easy walk, but not recommended to walk in sandals because of rocks you will walk across. Some of the trail is a little narrow and slightly steep so you should be steady on your feet. It's a simple trail, lovely view over the water and takes about 15 minutes at a slow pace. The moment you arrive at the beach is lovely. It's small, clean, crystal clear water, and there is a small snack shack where you can get simple food, drinks, or rent snorkels and simple water toys. There are enough shaded areas to get out of the sun and we didn't see any jellyfish. It was a great day. We had been on a cruise and took the ferry over from St. Thomas.

“Gorgeous Beach within walking distance from Ferry!”
Reviewed June 3, 2014

My family and I were so tired of paying taxis every time we turned around so we decided to hike from cruz bay through the Lind hiking trail in the rainforest to Honeymoon beach. Only about a 30 minute hike. The beach was gorgeous. The water was so blue it seemed unreal. We did the day rental at the adventure center and had a blast! For $69 my daughters and I were able to paddle board together, kayak together, snorkel and chill on some floats. We had a wonderful time. There are also restrooms here and concessions available (water, soft drinks and snacks). We had a wonderful time.

“One of the best days”
Reviewed June 3, 2014

We got the "all-inclusive package" and had unlimited use of snorkeling gear, kayaks, paddle boards, locker, and beach chairs. It was a great value! The staff was friendly and very helpful. All of this made our day here one of the best of our whole vacation!

“A Bit of a Walk, but well worth it!”
Reviewed June 3, 2014

To get to Honeymoon beach, park at the US Virgin Islands Park visitors center in Cruz Bay. There is Employee Only parking on the right side. Park there and ask inside for a permit to put in your windshield.

The trail to the beach is up some stairs and then to your right. It takes about 30 minutes to walk to the beach and you have to take a left off the Caneel Bay trail to get there.

The beach is really great - not many people - picturesque skies - you feel like you are on the set of South Pacific. The snorkeling is excellent. You can snorkel off to your right and there is a big reef that extends towards Caneel Bay. But off to your left is one of the most beautiful reefs on St. John. It's very shallow so you can't really swim much over the reef, but the edges contain lots of Elkhorn coral and an abundance of fish. We saw a nurse shark basking in the shallows. It looked like it was asleep! We also saw cuttlefish and all kinds of tangs and other reef dwellers.
