“Avoid Honeymoon Beach 1/16/2014”
Reviewed January 22, 2014

While wonderfully named, Honeymoon Beach is to be avoid. We re-named in HoneyPot Beach and likened it to an open pit toilet/sewage discharge. We learned there is a septic system very near the beach and it has significant issues during/after heavy rains (which happen also daily on St. Johns). The stench was overwhelming after just minutes there. At first, it was embarassing to acknowledge, but after a short time the smell was so pervasive that we packed up and re-traced the 20 plus minute was from CB resort parking lot. For cruise shippers or day trippers, many other beaches are close by with plenty of facilities like bathrooms/changing rooms, snack bars, and gear rentals. Don't waste your precious time at the mis-named site.

“No longer a secret gem of a beach”
Reviewed January 8, 2014 via mobile

This beautiful beach is accessible by a one mile walk/hike from the accrue Bay National Park Service office or a half mile walk from the Caneel Bay Resort parking lot. Unfortunately the Caneel Bay Resort charges $20 for parking, if you do not buy food and/or drink exceeding $20 at one of its restaurants. This beach has developed in recent years and now has kayaks, paddle boards and beach chairs for rent. There is also a unisex restroom and small snack bar. Honeymoon Beach used to be a secret gem on St. John but that is no longer the case. It can be as crowded as Hawks Nest and Maho. Day sails have also found it and you are likely to see three or more catamarans there with a large number of snorkels. Still, the water is pristine and the view is beautiful, although there can be quite a few sailboats out there.

“Quite and secluded beach. A must see!!”
Reviewed January 4, 2014

We took the trail and decided to walk to honeymoon beach. Although my girlfriend complained much of the walk, she found it well worth it once we got there. The beach is breathtaking and I would consider it to be very secluded. Plenty of personal space and beautiful calm clear blue waters. This beach is a must for couples or friends that are looking to spend the entire day on the beach and really just enjoy the day.

“hike in beach”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

hike the upper trail to both Honeymoon and Solomon beaches in St John. Where shoes as the trail is tricky. Beach is worth the hike. Isolated but good snorkeling.
