This resort may be great for those staying on resort. However we merely wished to visit the beach to consider booking in the future We paid $20 resort entrance fee only to be told by 3 separate employees that we should strongly consider walking to honeymoon beach. For $20 there are no shower facilities for non hotel guests. (hmmm wonder why I paid $20 to go there). To top off an unimpressive afternoon at the resort, one of our party, a a clearly sick, bald woman undergoing chemo was told she could not use her SPF shell . Although she too was encouraged to walk the 1/4 mile to honeymoon beach. Having checked the resort out for the day not one of our party of 8 will consider booking our next vacation there.

Dear Skipperkaf,

I wanted to respond to your comment. Since your last visit, an old structure that had been out of use for 30 years has been renovated into a very nice Watersports Facility. Now, there is always a very kind and caring attendant at the Hut who will care for you and your guests and make accommodations necessary to make all of you comfortable.

If you were to have purchased a home made Gelato ice cream, coffee or a panini at the new Café - Canella's, at Caneel Bay's Gift Shop, bar, restaurant or if you were to sign up for one of the exciting adventure kayak, hike & snorkel tours that we now offer at our Honeymoon Beach location, your $20 parking fee is waived.

We now offer flush toilets and a foot shower. We have a gift shop that offers hats, t-shirts, drinks, snacks, sunglasses, sunscreen and a wide variety of appropriate items that you may need at a beach. We also rent beach chairs and beach lounge chairs, thick floating mattresses, kayaks, standup paddleboards, snorkel gear with life jackets and lockers with locks. You can choose to relax in one of many hammocks that are scattered under coconut trees. We have picnic tables with umbrellas and the panini café from Caneel Bay Resort will deliver sandwiches if you order them when you arrive.

Virgin Islands Ecotours offers a Discounted Day Pass for $49 which allows you to use all of the rental equipment all day. You can reserve your day pass in advance online with Virgin Islands Ecotours so that you will not be disappointed.

We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you and your family back to experience our beautiful beach and promise to do our best to take care of you.

Warm regards,
Sybille

We hiked the Lind Point Trail to Honeymoon Beach. We thought we would have the beach pretty much to ourselves. Before we arrived at the beach, we heard a lot of voices and noise. When we got there we realized there were two boats full of cruise ship passengers, who chose Honeymoon Beach as their St. Thomas excursion. Luckily, after about 45 minutes, they were gone and we were alone on our own private beach. It doesn't get much better than that.

My mum and I took a tour that involved a hike through The National Park through Princess cruises. The guide was interesting and knowledgeable, the hike was hot but interesting with some lovely trails and we finished with a lovely swim at the beach. There are no facilities or cafe's at the beach but that's what makes it special.

It's a bit of a hike, but rewarded with white sand beach. If you enter from Caneel Resort, you have to purchase $20 in food or merchandise and show your receipt to the front desk to get a voucher, so you don't have to pay the $20 dollar parking fee. The security guard at the entry hands you one voucher and then you exchange it for another at the front desk. This only applies if you drive your rental vehicle, not for taxis.

Great lounging beach and get shade under one of the grape trees. There will be excursion boats that drop folks off to snorkel, but are there only for a short visit.

Your long hike through the hotel grounds and down a dirt trail ends on a partially secluded beach (partially because most tourists are too out of shape for the downhill walk).

The waters are clearer than anything you'll experience in the US. We were surrounded by schools of small fish, literally surrounded! They encircled us several times for nearly a half hour total. We saw several wild donkeys, a 4 foot long iguana, and beautiful foliage and ruins, perfect for photo opps.

"Honeymoon" is an appropriate name for this beach, as there are so few people, you might feel comfortable enough for a topless dip in the ocean.
