Owner description: Virgin Islands EcoTours Night Kayak tour is the most popular night time activity and tourist attraction on St. Thomas! Priced perfectly for large and small families or romantic couples, it's a fun adventure to explore the mangrove lagoon's winding waterways and mangrove tunnels under a starlit-night. Located at St. Thomas Mangrove Lagoon, near the East End and Red Hook area, Virgin Islands Ecotours is the only east end adventure kayak company and the number one rated ecotourism business in the Virgin Islands. Paddle through the winding waterways of the Mangrove Lagoon at night and hear spooky pirate and ghost stories. Enjoy the starlit sky and the dark mangroves as you look for stingrays, tarpon, and other marine life below your kayak. From Blackbeard, Bluebeard, and Teach, prepare for a spooky experience and hear tales of shipwrecks and the eerie legends that haunt the islands to this day.

“Great experience w/ Ecotours at St. John Island”
Reviewed March 9, 2013

Our guide, Patrick Conniley, was enthusiastic, kind, positive and helpful. Our 3-4 hour outing consisted of kayaking in beautiful, blue clear water, hiking, and snorkeling. I had never snorkeled before and felt anxious, but our guide, Patrick, was patient with me and had me snorkeling in about 10 minutes. We saw several conchs, living and dead coral, a turtle muching on grass, and various fish. During the hike Patrick pointed out interesting plants, critters, and history of the island. The experience was fun, educational, and an opportunity to MOVE our bodies! If you go, avoid wearing flip-flops. What is an "easy" hike became not so fun for those who wore flip-flops because loose rock is encountered. A "Teva"-like sandle that will support your foot and can get wet is best.

“Best part of an amazing trip”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

St. John's is beautiful in any event, but the beauty was really brought to life through this tour. Patrick had an amazingly in depth level of knowledge of the history of the island, a passion for its natural beauty, and a wide-ranging expertise with its ecosystem.

It was easy to register online, we called to confirm (which was unnecessary). Patrick was early and clearly explained how the tour would work (mechanics and level of exertion required), then proceeded to take us on a stunning hike through the National Park, culminating in a fantastic snorkel that impressed even my veteran SCUBA diver-wife.

I would recommend the tour and Patrick to anyone looking for a little adventure on St. Johns.

“Patrick is the man!”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

My wife and I stayed at Caneel Bay for our honeymoon and took the Kayak, Hike & Snorkel Adventure tour with Patrick. We had a blast hiking around the mountain seeing incredible views and snorkeling with sea turtles and sting rays. Patrick was an excellent tour guide and a really cool guy. We even met up with him and his girlfriend for drinks at a local beach bar after the tour. Definitely recommend this trip!

“Wonderful trip - Patrick, tour guide, the best!!”
Reviewed February 7, 2013

Signed up for this trip via phone. All arrangements went well. They were waiting for us when we got there. Explained the trip and what to expect. It was everything we had hoped for and more!! I think Patrick was the best guide we have ever had and we have done many tours over the years. He is very knowledgeable and it was obvious he enjoys nature and wants the tour participants to get the most out of the trip. I would highly recommend this trip!

“Great tour and fantastic customer service”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

Friend and I signed up for this tour at our resort. Somehow there was miscommunication between our resort and eco tours and once we got to the tour starting place at Honeymoon beach we were signed up for different tour. We were of course bit disappointed but guys there were super friendly and accommodating (Chris and Patrick). They offered us to go on a different tour that was starting at our scheduled time, 10 am or to wait until 2 pm to go for the tour we signed up for "caneel bay" . They also offered us free chairs, kayaks or any other beach equipment while we were waiting. They apologized multiple times for this miscommunication and also offered us to pick any two tea-shirts from the shop for free. Our tour guide Patrick was super nice, knowledgable and very accommodating. We learned a lot about plants, animals and history and culture of the island. We were very pleased with services we received.
