Maho was my second favorite of all the beaches on the north shore. It had a southeast Asian kind of feel to it. There was literally no waves and instead of the clear blue of most of the other beaches, the water here was more like an emerald (to me) Less crowded than Trunk and ample parking. We snorkeled and saw a baby nurse shark cruising the shallows both days we were there. Lots of sea turtles here too :)

“Turtle! Turtle! Turtle!”
Reviewed May 15, 2013

Let's just say, we saw sea turtles here for the first time and it made my trip! I was waiting a long time and they were hanging out at Maho the whole time. There is a lot more green grass in the water for them to feed on so there's a better chance to catch them. There were a lot fewer fish here, but we saw a few, and quite a few stingrays as well. The beach is nice too, but it isn't as deep as other beaches. I just remember saying "turtle" repeatedly through my snorkel and following them around. If you want to see lots of fish however, check out Waterlemon or Trunk.

“Easy Access Beach”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

Maho Bay is just after Cinnamon and is a must see for snorkeling and for those who don't even have the equipment to go. Nurse sharks and stingray seemed to float right on up and were clearly visible without even getting our masks on. At the same time they bothered no one and were just two among other sea life that was plentiful at this stop. Great beach, not super crowded as a cinnamon bay or turtle, but not as desolate as other beaches on the further ends of the island.

“Less busy and more interesting snorkeling than Trunk!”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

This beach is breathtaking- it is right next to the road. There is no official paved parking lot like Trunk or Cinnamon, but you can find spaces to park. It was not terribly crowded. There were quite a few boats in the bay but that just added to the scenery.
We went swimming here and those snorkeling saw a sand shark. When we went snorkeling we saw turtles, decent coral, rays, barracudas, smaller fish and a large starfish. The water was a little murky in spots, but there are interesting things to see. You can float all over the bay and see various things, there really wasn't one great spot. The water is calm so it would be ideal for beginner snorkelers. Make sure you stop at the lookout up the road for an unbelievable view if you rent a car!

“Turtles!”
Reviewed May 9, 2013

We saw two different turtles and a sting ray snorkeling out past the point. The beach was a little too busy for my taste but the snorkeling was good once you got out from the beach. Rude yacht people on the beach and in their dingys.
