We liked Trunk Bay and felt it was the most beautiful (as advertised), but Cinnamon always ended up way less crowded for us and had food and drinks if we wanted them. It's a little bit of a walk from the parking area, but it was ALWAYS worth it!

I loved Cinnamon Bay! When we stepped onto the beach everyone seemed to snorkel and gather in the center of the beach. We were hoping for a quiet day so we decided to head down the beach to the left. I'm so happy we did! There was almost no one down that way and we found awesome snorkeling. Snorkeled all around the rock formations along the left of the beach. If you follow the rock formations along the left you can actually snorkel in fairly shallow water to another little beach. There was only one other couple on this beach and it was so relaxing. We found the wing, engine and parts of a small plane that must have wrecked some time ago. It's about 50 feet out from the shore of this other little beach and 20 feet to the left of the rocks. If you don't want to snorkel to this "private beach" you can clammer over the rocks like I also did. Just be sure to wear some sort of shoes as the rocks are hard to walk on with bare feet.

Not a good spot for divers & snorkel. Its a nice family beach with open waters and nice restaurant, bathrooms & showers on site.

Great sailing, surfing and relaxing. My son had a great time paddle boarding. Everything can be rented at beach.

We took the ferry over to St John yesterday May 18th ($12 pp rt). Grabbed a taxi, $7 per person) and headed to Cinnamon Bay. The drive was beautiful & very scenic. Only took about 10 minutes to get there. Taxi dropped us off right inside the campgrounds. There's a short walk through the trees, and then the picturesque view unfolds. The bay was relatively calm, water warm, and there were plenty of trees to offer shade. We rented snorkel gear from the small store on the beach for $5 a person. Didn't see a whole lot of fish, but didn't swim the entire bay either. From time to time a random fish would make its way to where we were, but nothing like what we saw in Coki Beach on St Thomas. Great beach for relaxing, taking in the views and enjoying a good book. Bathrooms were available more towards the camp ground area, and the small store offered minimal snacks, drinks and sundries. Be sure to bring bug spray. I've never seen so many Mosquitos! All in all enjoyed the day, and would def come back!
