“Busy place”
Reviewed March 27, 2013

Can’t give an accurate review as we pulled up and there tons of cars here.. so we took a locals advice and took some back unpaved roads that lead us down to a rocky beach and I mean all rocks, no sand.. but led out to some great snorkeling. Locals say Salt Pond is overrated.

“A drive to remember”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

From the ferry to the trail head it is a bit of a drive and an adventure. We enjoyed the drive and the beach. It is small and it is pleasant. The hike is not long, but it is in the sun. There is shade on the beach, and the variety of sand, rock, an reef is nice. The trinket tent at the trail head is fun and the guy that runs it is a trip, he will even dance for you.

Nice beach, snorkeling is alright, but can be found closer to more things and more beautiful beaches. Rams head is nice, but I would not recommend the trip.

“Biggest fish I've seen”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

This is on the southeastern part of the island and has a nice long stretch of beach. Long but not wide, St. John doesn't have much sand real estate as far as from the treeline to the water goes. You can snorkel right off the beach and if you follow the coastline on the far left side of the beach you can see big fish and decent corals. The water is calm so you can snorkel without being pushed around by the currents. This place is pretty popular so there will be tons of other snorkerers with you and there is a high chance that you'll bump into them in the water.

“Worth the hike”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

Snorkeling not as good as I had expected calm waters my teenagers thought boring. Others said if you swam further out more to see. Pack a cooler it's a long dry hike worth the drive if you are staying on other side of the Island.
