Owner description: The good news: this world-class stretch of white sand and turquoise water is St. John's most photographed beach, which features a marked underwater trail for beginning snorkelers. The bad news: because of its popularity, it can get very crowded with cruise ship passengers and members of sightseeing tours.

“Worth getting away from St Thomas”
Reviewed July 20, 2014 via mobile

We were staying at the Ritz and wanted to get out and do some snorkeling. St Thomas is packed with cruisers so we headed to St John. We took the ferry over (leaves Cruz Bay every hour on the hour) and then took a taxi to the beach. Upon arrival we rented our snorkel gear for $5 for the day and also rented a locker to keep our stuff in. I recommend bringing a change of clothes and grabbing some dinner before heading back to St Thomas. There are bathrooms and showers on site. There is also a store and little cafe (we didn't try it). You can rent chairs and umbrellas too. The snorkeling was fantastic! I also recommend taking the short taxi ride to Cinnamon Bay, a larger beach with more room to spread out.

“Beautiful is an understatement!”
Reviewed July 20, 2014 via mobile

Stunning beach. Take a picture from the overlook as you approach Trunk Bay...you will want to keep this picture close when you go home or as your screen saver. Trunk Bay never disappoints...blue water, white sand, gentle waves, great snorkelling and shower facilities make this beach outstanding. Most snorkelers follow the trail but I would suggest the other side of the island and the area to the far right when looking out to the water. Bottom-line, if you are in St Thomas or St John, you cannot miss the opportunity to visit Trunk Bay.

“Gorgeous Beach!”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

Definitely one of the nicest beaches in the Caribbean, if not the world. Sugar-soft sand on a 1/4 mile beach, shallow, warm water, and a nice marked snorkeling trail, all within the US Virgin Islands National Park. Definitely worth a visit if you are in St. Thomas...

“Worth the Ferry Ride!”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

We're staying in St. Thomas and decided to take ferry ride over from redhook. Trunk Bay's water is gorgeous! Clear to the max. Sand is gorgeous as well. The amentities could be better. The snack shop had a small selection of food items, but reasonably priced compared to Magen's Bay. The husband and wife team (that's what I presumed) work real hard but towards the end of the day, they looked beat. One downfall is the chair rental place. To rent a $10 chair, you need to put down a $50 deposit. You get the money back but you have to return the chairs by 3:30 pm, so God forbid you take an enjoyable nap under the trees shaded areas and miss the early deadline. If you do, you forfeit all your money. Would I visit again? Yes.

“Amazing Beach”
Reviewed July 19, 2014

Trunk Bay is a beautiful bea ch with clear blue water, white sand, and amenities such as a snack bar, restrooms, showers, and a rental shop. It's very peaceful and family-friendly as well. That is, until the occasional family of
stingrays decide to come to
the shore. Overall, Trunk
Bay is a great beach, and no matter if you're staying in St. Thomas or St. Croix, it's definitely worth the ferry ride over to St. John to check it out.
