Great location! Walk to bars, restuarants, shopping, excursions via Cruz Bay, "personal" beach yards away - everything! Villa is everything you want/need and more! Mike was friendly, helpful, available and fun! We will be back!

Its always fun to meet new guests & making friends...you guys were great. I also review comments & ratings and take them very serious. This guest suggested that the closet space was not too great. This is my 3rd rental on the island, the first 2 had big closets that are almost never used, so when I renovated this cottage I chose to give guests more living space and smaller clothes/closet space. Don't over pack!!! :)

Seaside Vista is perched about twenty feet over Franks Bay, less than five (flat) minutes to town. It is charming, convenient and a perfect spot on the island. To sit on the deck, drinking and inhaling the remarkable view, listening to the waves, is one of the more perfect parts of life. If you are into pretension, this is not for you.
If you love comfort, convenience and proximity to the ocean, to town and yet a quiet environment, then you will love Seaside Vista.
The host Michael, lives on the island and is delightful, and there if you need him.
We will be back very soon.

This guest was one of my first renters at Seaside Vista and chose to come back and stay again; so they obviously liked the accommodations. I wanted to be sure prospective guests understood his comments about "if you are looking for pretention its not for you." I redesigned the interior of Seaside Vista paying homage to its 47 year old Caribbean heritage, hence there is no dark granite or wood, stainless steel appliances or urban slick finishes like you see in some of the nearby condos or back in the states, but rather light beachy colors, with driftwood plank tiled floors, sea glass colored tile backsplash, etc. Its all new and clean but very "vintage cottage chic" with lots of Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware touches...all with a cottage flair. Happily guests have loved it and its atmosphere of a real getaway in paradise. Come see for yourself and enjoy! Michael

“Just what the doctor ordered for a January getaway!”

Seaside Vista has to be the most perfect location in St. John for those not interested in renting a car/jeep. Secluded behind trees and shrubs with only the ocean in view yet a five minute walk to town. Quiet at night with only the sounds of the surf. Does it get any better than this? The ferry from the airport docks about three blocks from Seaside and we walked the short distance.
We were greeted upon arrival by a peacock that looked us up and down as we walked up the sidewalk and then casually strolled off between us.
Although we chose to eat out (my vacation from the kitchen) Seaside's kitchen is completely furnished with all the amenities. A huge gas grill sits outside on the patio.
The bed is very comfortable and through breezes made the use of air-conditioning unnecessary.
There is a quiet beach across the street, but for larger, more populated beaches, a hike through the woods on a path occupied by about a dozen donkeys takes you to Honeymoon Beach and a taxi took us to Trunk Bay. We also enjoyed a sunset cruise; Mother Nature cooperated and the sky was spectacular.
The patio/deck on bay side was our hangout---coffee in the a.m. and reading/napping in the afternoon. Two two-feet long iguanas hung out in the tree everyday munching leaves.
Michael is the ultimate service-oriented host/owner. He responds to questions via email within the hour and wants nothing but your complete satisfaction and happiness.
We would go back to Seaside Vista in a heartbeat---would not bother looking at any other location.

“5 minute walk from Cruz bay, steps from the beach, great experience”
Reviewed January 19, 2015 for a stay in January 2015

My fiancé and I stayed at Seaside Vista for a week. The owner was VERY helpful throughout our stay, and offered travel advice when we had flight problems and there were some internet problems at the beginning of the week, but he was prompt to respond to our issues. He also offered advice on where to eat and what to do during our stay. This was a very cute house that was steps from the beach with some pretty good snorkeling. We also had a good view of the sunsets over the water. Comfy bed, with AC in the bedroom, plenty of pots/pans, sandwich bags, coffee filters, toilet paper, coolers for the beach, beach chairs, etc. This place had everything. We are in our 20's and enjoyed our stay. I would recommend this place and would come back and stay here again sometime! I know there is any option to have the 2nd bedroom to have 2 more people stay here, but it might seem a little cramped with only one bathroom. However, we were planing to stay with another couple so we would personally prefer to not be in such close quarters with them, so it's strictly our preference. I would recommend this place to all age groups and seems family friendly too. Quiet area and very clean, good parking available too (You can park across street or if that's full then you can always pull into the small driveway).

It is sometimes hard to be on top of everything even though I go through the property with a checklist. This guest commented about needing a better shower curtain...I agree and just replaced the plastic one with a nicer fabric curtain...thanks for the tip!

“Great Beachfront Cottage!”

Wonderful Snorkeling right out our front door! We feel so lucky to have found this gem…the villa was very tastefully done, with the right balance between cottage chic and comfort. Our friends stayed nearby at a condo and were very jealous when they came over and saw we had an entire villa for the same price they paid for their condo. It’s such a peaceful setting yet so close to town. The sunset views were awesome. We really enjoyed taking a dip in the ocean whenever we wanted…’cause the beach is right across the street…so much easier than packing up a car to go to the beach. Fantastic snorkeling, too. Loved the sound of the crashing waves…can’t say enough; highly recommend. Our host gave us great restaurant tips!

Ourr stay at Seaside Vista was magical. Going to bed and waking up to the sounds of thesurf so close, truly made it our own private beach retreat. The place was very clean and everything was new and very well equipped. The covered terrace was our favorite hang-out, both for dining and/or relaxing. Enjoying the fabulous sunsets every night with a glass of wine…then walking to town for dinner, it was so easy and convenient. Even the short stroll home at night with the moonlight and lights of St Thomas was wonderful. Wewere pleasantly surprised at how quiet and peaceful the setting was, especially so closeto town. Michael was a great host. We will definitely be back!
