Great food, great atmosphere! We are going to eat there twice this year. You'll need reservations because this seems to be the most popular place.

We had a wonderful dinner at La Tapa. We enjoyed the atmosphere, which is a mix of island and European flair. We had a group of six adults and shared 5 small plates and the paella. The mussels and escargot stood out as favorites of the group. The paella was also excellent and definitely large enough for 2 or 3 to share as an entree. The service was good, no complaints, but not outstanding. It is a bit pricey ($35-40 entrees, $20 small plates) but that is the norm for a nice restaurant on the islands. I would definitely recommend this place.

This wonderful restaurant features small plates (tapas) as well as regular entrees and we enjoyed both. We'd especially recommend the gazpacho and the fish-related dishes, which we focused on. In a town with an increasing number of good options for dining, Tapa was the one place we had such a good time at that we elected to return for a second dinner. It is informal and friendly, and you very much feel like you are in Cruz Bay. One evening as we were dining we saw a man walk in with a 5-foot fish over his shoulder. Apparently, he regularly sells his catch to the restaurant. We saw a mahi he had just caught. The restaurant has been in Cruz Bay for many years, and for good reason. You should have dinner here.

La Tapa features fantastic small plates. Each is extremely well prepared and beautifully presented. We loved the gazpacho and grilled langostinos (messy but worth it). The best dish of the night was duck confit that was rich and so flavorful. The setting is right on the main street and the partial below street level is a little odd, but all in all this was a great spot.

Wonderfully creative menu; expertly prepared and served; enthusiastic, energetic wait-staff, great vibe. We liked it so much we went 2x in 4 nights - both times were excellent. I'd recommend everything we ate - regular and small plates. Gazpacho was best ever tasted. Also, excellent Mojito in a place that mostly serves wine - nice selection, too
